This trait now needs a rework. There have been many discussion how it is missplaced in Wilderness Survival and should be swapped with stuff like Honed Axes etc.

The point I want to make though is: It has become really kittening bad. The 10 sec interval is the problem. If it just triggered and the spike happens afterwards it basically does nothing and you could as well have no condi removal at all. This already was the case before but now stuff like burning stacks in intensity. There are no more 10 second long burn stacks but rather 5 stacks over 3 or 4 seconds. That makes it even more likely for Empathic Bond to completely miss those high dmg conditions.

Suggestion:

1. Make it transfer 1 condition every 3 seconds.
2. Swap position with Honed Axes.
3. Buff Honed Axes but that is material for another thread.

Btw another fix would be to make it transfer INCOMING conditions.

This would propably need a really low ICD though because it would proc on each and every burn source etc indiviually.

Just thinking aloud, would having empathic bond trigger, “when you are affected by 3+(damaging?) conditions” and then modify the cooldown be viable?

Move it to beast mastery and have the pet transfer 1 condition from you and the pet to the target with a successful attack, give it a 3 second cool down.

This would still require good pet management but the trait would no longer be a death sentence for your pet.

For it to be worthy of a GM trait, it needs to transfer 1 condition every 3 seconds to your pet. Upon transfer, it is converted to a Boon.

Then and only then would I ever take EB in this condi meta.

Empathic Bond is really strong, problem is you must always pair it with Signet of Renewal. Your never going to get the best of both worlds, if you just pair it with Renewal and you get condition bombed just use Renewal.

Also we have Evasive Purity and Healing Spring. That right there is allot of condition remove, also E.g. you’re running a dps build look into Runes of Lyssa thee ICD lines up with our Elites if spec’ed for.

Eb+Renewal+Lyssa is hell of allot of condition remove, if your still having problems take Sigil of Generosity.

Also conditions are getting there math’s shaved back across the board.

We also have WK if you want more direct on the spot condition remove.

EB is just too situational. sometimes, by the time it procs, half of your HP is gone. if you blow SoR, then you have zero on-demand condi cleanse.
