Etangle :

Despite the tooltip, the initial attack of skill can be blocked, and if it is blocked, the vines won’t be spawned on the blocking foe. It needs to be fixed. Also, it should scales with direct dagame as it scales with condition damage.

Muddy terrain :

This skill is kind of old school now. The activation time should be reduced and the velocity increased.

The initial attack of entangle is unblockable. It is just weak, because pretty much everybody runs plenty of counters – and if people wouldn’t do so, AC would be op.

Definitely agreed on Muddy Terrain.
You could double the velocity, halve the cast time, double the radius, reduce the cooldown to 20s, double the maximum targets and make it unblockable and I would still hesitate to take it over QZ & LR on a survival build.
Its simply an underwhelming effect. It doesn’t feel any worse than a lag spike, or getting hit with Staff 4.

Muddy terrain should blind those directly hit by muddy terrain before it touches the ground , your throwing mud at people expect to be blinded.

there after the area has a cripple effect and knockdown for superspeed users.

keeping the 25second cooldown and increase the duration on the floor plus velocity.
radius stays the same but targets now = 10 . this should grant a Strong use in WvW vs superspeed users so it’ll ether force them to flank or not use superspeed to escape while on the muddy ground.

This is a good, realistic suggestion, although perhaps a second effect for swiftness users would make it less niche.

This is a good, realistic suggestion, although perhaps a second effect for swiftness users would make it less niche.

muddy terrain should be reworked to work like entangle : AoE immobilise + the usual effects.

Entangle and ancient seeds\black holes (from avatar, Did you know you can “kill” those too?) should be reworked to be stronger.

My suggestions would be:

  • entangle\ancient seeds trap until roots are destroyed or pass the 5 seconds. We have the kindergarden fence from DH LB5 and it seems ok. This one is a weaker version as you can escape them just tagging the roots (with the hotkey to rag nearest there is no excuse). Otherwise nothing else will work. Also increase ancient roots ICD to 20 secs.
    The immobilise will be not affected by condition duration, it’s 5 seconds and that’s all.
  • black holes from Avatar5 work similar to the kindergarden fence or the dragon mouth trap. If we complete the chain a black hole form where we were that pulls enemy players every second for 5 pulls ( 5 max affected players by the pulling at anytime).
    The effect radius is pretty small, the skill need to stay in place for more than 2 seconds to complete and is pbaoe, which means you have to stay in the middle of the enemy zerg to do that. I think because the crazy ammount of risk the player is taking the reward should be on the same level.
    They could keep being able to be killed same as conitinum split, so players can kill them if they find it suitable,

what do you think?

Entangle:
- 2 stacks of 2 seconds of stability when cast
- cool down reduced to 40 seconds

Muddy terrain:
- each pulse applies 1 second of slow

Sharpening stone:
- you gain 6 seconds of un-blockable

I don’t want entangle improvement to affect ancient seeds, and I’m afraid that’s what they would do. Entangle is actually fine on a survival build because of low CD and condition remove.

I agree muddy terrain needs work. Problem is it is hard to hit with in the first place, and pretty underwhelming.

Entangle seems fine the way it is. Wouldn’t mind seeing it’s cast time reduced to half a second though, it’s pretty easy to dodge.

Muddy Terrain needs either a much faster cast time or a better secondary effect. Weakness on enemies caught on it and quickness to pets? Or turn it into some sort of field.

Sharpening stone could have it’s CD halved in PvP and people still might not take it. At least it needs to grant it’s effect to your pet. Wouldn’t mind seeing it have some sort of life leeching effect either.

I use both skills in large scale fights in WvW and guild raids (healmmobilzer build). In fact, Muddy Terrain, Etangle, Vine Surge and Natural convergence are the only offensive skills i can land.

Even if it works, somehow, my main issue is that i can’t really call an “immobilizing” in TS, cuz i don’t even know if it will work properly. Etangle, despite the tooltip, is blockable and the entire skill can be negated (literally, nothing happens, no initial damage, no roots). I would be happy if MT could recieve some new effects, but for now, the animation (the animation doesn’t reflect the actual radius) should be changed, and velocity and activation time (maybe the radius) look at.
