Please (as it has been said many times before) let our pets share our AR in fractals. We can actively avoid a lot of agony-dealing attacks but our pets can not.

Also I’d like to bring up again the issue of Pets in the Jade Maw boss fight. Even when dead my pet was targeted three times in a row by Jade Maw. This is very frustrating and always leaves the ranger up for ridicule b/c everyone is wanting to finish the fractal at this point but Maw keeps targeting my non-crystal-holding dead pet.

YES! The jade maw fractal is so frustrating if you have a pet. No perma stow option means even when he’s dead he gets targeted. It’s asinine and opens us to ridicule because of bad mechanics.

While I agree with everything you say the ‘ridicule’ thing kind of bugs me.

If people are making fun of you during jade maw it’s either:
1) They are just frustrated and it’s just a way to vent some steam and not meant seriously. Don’t take it personally because it’s not really aimed at you.
or
2) They are stupid enough to actually think it’s your fault in some way. In which case, well… They are stupid and you might reconsider grouping with them in the future.

I’ve complained about my stupid pet during jade maw before. A suggestion is make sure your pet has a name. The reason is because it gives your pet an identity and then it’s much easier for people to complain about “Stupid Pickles” or “Jeez, Jade Maw hates Pickles.”

I know it seems silly but it is actually good for the group’s moral if there is a pet they can make fun of. If you pick some names it can also lead to various jokes. Let’s face it, Jade Maw is boring anyway so anything that can give people something to do and/or laugh at is great.

Ah, I said I wouldn’t ever post again but I had to bite. Afaik, rangers are the only way to beat jade maw when you’re at the point that you have maxed agony resistance but are still pushing into higher and higher levels of FOTM.

Oh, and I main ranger and am playing high level FOTM (not maxed yet). I don’t really have many issues. But agony resist would be nice, right?

One thing you can do is if you swap pets while agony hits, at least you get a 15 s CD rather than a 45 s CD. At least that’s what I do if my big damage pet is vulnerable. Depending on the situation though you may not choose to swap.

There’s other strategies too. I have to go but if any other rangers want to chime in please do.

I agree our pets need to share our AR, ANet needs to work on this pronto.

I’m pretty sure the next patch will give pets AR.

If not, then I don’t know what they’re doing over at Anet.

Stay out of combat, keep pet stowed, and explain why you’re staying out of combat to your team. Spend time refreshing crystals.

The system’s stupid now, but there are work-arounds to it.

Use Guard and set him in a safe place where he can’t be targeted.?
