Now we now the Plans for Ranger.
Personally i expect that BM, probably a Power BM will rise in Ranger Meta game.
With the General active from Signets the most tanky build in past of the ranger gets a bit more tankiness then before with SoS. and the Dmg will be higher coz of SotW and SotH.
With Axe AA we will will be might machines. With one of the three +45% might Duration runes (Strenght/Hoelbrak/Aristocracy) and 6 in NM we gain 5.25s Might per hit. In 1v1 ist up to 4-5 stacks and in zerg? HALLELUJAH! It was never so easy in Zerg fight to stack 25 Might.
And as a side note: axe ranger will Counter ranger imo.
i think a A/T+S/H weapon set will be as a BM pretty much the best choice.
Sword AA stacks in General might on pet, the Axe AA now too if we use Fortifying Bond. It will be kitten easy to stack 25 stacks might on them. Remember: everytime we gain one stack might, independent from Duration, the pet gains 10s of it. So i understanded it from tooltip. And i dont want to say before it was a struggle to apply many might stacks on pet!
Ranger can stack might good too. The called weapon set can Combo really well with the fire field. Maybe we can Switch it. but in head i imagined Torch#5 – Weapon swap – Horn#5 – Sword#2 chain.
For Pve/wvw a cleric/apoth armor set could work as hybrid. For me some People seem to Forget that Might stacks condi dmg too, so might builds are good hybrid builds aswell.
While S/H is more power, the weapons should be Cleric and A/T apoth. but maybe its not the best for the build, idk i am no great theory crafter.
So to conclude i think a strong build will come around focused around tanky ranger and hard hitting mighty pet.
Now your theorys, my hyping friends
This might bring back beastmasters into the PvP metagame:
-axe auto stacks might, especially good vs minion mancers and turret engis
-SoTW is a stability provider as well as a heal
-ability to use any BM master trait with any pet
-Entangle CD reduction. Lyssa, Krait rune synergy. I see Krait runes being especially potent with a settlers BM ranger.
Having said that, here is what I will probably play come september:
-Settlers amulet
-Rune of the Krait
-Axe+dagger, Sword+torch
-hydromancy and geomancy sigils on both sets
-6 into WS taking Wilderness knowledge, OH training and EB
-4 into NM taking Natures protection and Enlargment
-4 into BM taking mighty swap and vigorous training
-As far as utilities go it will probably be: Healing spring, LR, Signet of renewal, Signet of the Wild and Entangle.

For WvW roaming I can see hybrid ranger rising, with a Rampager based build and axe main hand.
With Axe AA + Sigil of Battle , Warhorn and RaO the ranger can maintain a good amount of might by himself, if not maintain 25 stacks, and that is a huge buff in power and cond damage alone.
Maybe a hybrid trapper, skirmishing gives ferocity scaling the power damage even more, also we now have an extra evade with GS, that is a good tool for players that don’t like the sword.
Quite honestly, even with 25 might stacks the axe auto attack is horrible. The main thing here is that the downtime between stalkers strike+splitblade combo isnt wasted as you can maintain 3-4 stacks of might.
As far as beastmastery goes, the biggest impact is the signets. We have a very strong incentive to use signet actives and to swap them around. Entangle as well. I think that both power and BM builds got a huge boost if these changes go through.

Rangers finally have their hundred blades! lol. Run LB with GS and moment of Clarity with this to be pure glass and die to a breeze but also lol instagib people you catch with it (just like hundred blades).

better to run LB + Axe Axe…. Rune of Strength + 3-4 points into Nature Magic for some additional boon duration… bam, you throw a few axe AA, fire off a much much faster and equally devastating as maul, Path of Scars. Swap to LB, use QZ, signet and rapid fire all while still having 3-7 stacks of might…
after patch rapid fire should be renamed when we use RtW
“AK 47 Fire” is a better Name i think.
The current 60260 power survival build would work even better after patch and 40640 for prysins Combo…or 4424..seems like we will see a lot of new power builds in next time
I just imagine how i could use my old aristocracy runes with 6 in NM and some Duration bufffood and run through a zerg with endless Might stacks…
