Yep, I could imagine Frost trap a viable power trap if it dealt at least twice the damage (24 sec CD for a damage of 2 auto-attack hits would sound pretty reasonable).

I couldn’t get my frost trap to crit even when I am wearing Zerk gear.

I don’t know where the idea came from that frost trap does dmg. Its so weak even in full glass. Added vulnerable condition could improve it some too if it applied before its dmg?
Frost Traps damage still is the lowest, it has the highest BASE damage physically speaking but even at 0 condi damage the flame and viper traps out DPS it overall, not to mention those two scale better with both power and condi damage (duh).
Frost trap is still, in my opinion, not good enough to warrant having such a long CD, sure the ice field is good and all, but not THAT good…

The frost field only lasts a few seconds too, so its not amazing as you said. I agree that it needs a shorter CD, or, make it not pulse doing all the damage and chill in one hit.
Have ran a power frost trap build in the past but that was before the damage was added (was about 5-6sec chill per pulse).
Was actually sad about the damage addition since it made using frost trap less desirable on a trap rune build (to me anyway) and was also really sad that they removed damage from thief traps to stop them being revealed (guess the devs dont want rangers to have that much invisibility).
So, I would prefer the damage be removed from Frost Trap again.
Condi trap builds dont really need direct damage, specially something that will crit for like 350.
The damage doesnt help power builds since AA does more damage.
It would also make running frost trap + HS + trapper runes a somewhat viable option for power builds (even with the condi damage messing up min/maxing)
