Guild Wars 2

I’m gearing to play some wvw until PoF, and I was thinking about bringing my valk ranger back. I used to wreck people in high level spvp with it pre-HoT, but i’d like to know how it would fare in current wvw meta:

It has decent cleanses, a ton of CC, block, evades, mobility, stealth, 3 stunbreaks, stab, and really good stat distribution, which I could zerg with etc…but tbh I’m flying pretty blind as I’m not sure how cancerous wvw meta has become. I assume very condi-heavy.

p.s. I with the semi-recent pet responsiveness and GS buffs, I’d like to play a Tiger/GS-centric build.

First build will probably struggle alot vs the current condi-Reapers because you don’t want to be in melee range there ever, and Condi Chronos will probably give you a hard time as well. Other then that you’re good to go with that build as far as I’m concerned

The first build; Intelligence sigil on the GS. Since you have no boon duration, are capped for Swiftness, have lots of Fury applications and are not using Windbourne Notes anyway, I’d drop the WH for OH axe and put an Intelligence sigil on that too.

If you can learn to judge the pull with PoS, it does good damage, you can get two hits with it, so with the MoC trait the second can do crazy damage if you get an interrupt. And they’ll both crit due to the sigil. Same goes for Whirling Defense.

Also, don’t overlook Refined Toxins just because you don’t have condi damage, it’s pretty great for the healing debuff.

I use one very similar, but with Rune of the Daredevil which gives you a guaranteed crit on dodge too. Worth playing around with anyway.

Thanks guys. Is Marauder gear always a good investment for wvw, if I’m never gonna healbot? I’m also thinking Trailblazer might be hella strong for the Soulbeast (d/d/sb)
