Hello, so i decided to do some fractals afterall, who doesnt want a quiver on his back!

Sure I have a few 80s but I didnt know I had to pick a character else id prob pick my guard since its easier to get groups i reckon, our area heal is pretty great though.Anyway im doing it with my ranger and since im more of a farm/wvw player i could use a hand to pick my type of damage..

Now I have both a condition damage and damage set.

Iv been doing with dps set since thats the build im using atm(longbow/gw)

But maybe trap build better for groups?

Any experienced fractal player help me out, mostly doing wvw otherwise.

Pets have no agony resistance and don’t share any equipped resistance in your gear. You can try to do double digit fractals, but be prepared to have any damage and utility from your pet to be nullified in any fight where it matters.

Not that pets were worth a kitten against legendaires anyway.

I’d say just farm low levels until you get your condensed mists and then not bother on the Ranger. Maybe one day they will address the issue but I wouldn’t advise anyone hold their breath.

As far as the fights go, I found that using a shortbow with the pierce trait lets me deal with mob clusters pretty well and cycling with a LB for the vulnerability helps in boss fights.

I’m at level 42 fractals. Piercing arrows. 20 or 30 points in beastmastery. Trait that improves endurance regen.

Signet of the hunt never leaves my bar. Don’t melee anything except Jade shards.

You’ll figure out where melee pets will melt, use spiders instead. Don’t listen to the hate.

The one thing that has made my pet control leagues better is putting pet attack (f1) as a scroll wheel click. Never take your pet of passive unless you’re farming orr.

Ok, i like my drakes for pve since i get whirl finisher in the healing spring and they do some aoe, i agree il prob have to throw abit more points into beastmastery and great to hear its working for someone..

I do feel pets get quite abit sturdier with nature line but not quite enough.
(wilderness protection and shared buffs)
