Hey I am looking for a good ranger build to level up with im mostly gonna level by doing map completion and dungeons. So does anyone have any suggestions open to everything. I enjoy doing some high damage but being able to survive and solo champions.

20 in Marksmanship for spotter, WH offhand, Frost spirit and healing spring for dungeons. Outside of dungeons as long as you have a bear and a bow not much is going to hurt you (just never bring said bear and bow to a dungeon).

for map completion and personal story, put as many points in to the beast master line as you can and use drakes (try other pets though). For armor grab power based ones, for weapons try them all out but keep the great sword as as you swap weapon, it will help you get around the map quicker. For utility use signet of the hunt and try every thing else out.

For leveling ranger is probably the easiest class to do it with, because of the pet.

Longbow and a drake, Heal as one, signet of the hunt, and 30 in marksmanship. Shortbow or greatsword as a backup weapon. Oh and switch to sword and horn if you are soloing some group dps check…
However as a ranger you will be hated by most pug groups. So make a warrior, guardian or ele alt for dungeons and fractals.
Levelling a ranger is a faceroll, but once you are on level 80 your life ends.

I honestly really hated leveling my Ranger (which is why he’s sat for a year at level 24), so I started frequenting posts such as this one and found that I actually really do enjoy the profession. I just messed around with utilities and fell in love with traps because they seem to do a good deal of damage for levels 15-30. So I ran 10/10/0/0/10 until 40 with Longbow and Sword/Axe. Personally, I really enjoyed the strategy of attacking my enemies with sword, drop traps (especially the flame trap), pull enemies with Axe #4, stab and leap with Sword #2 for Fire Aura, and then Axe #5 for flaming bolts. Perhaps not the most effective strategy but I found it very enjoyable for my playstyle and renewed my perspective on leveling the profession. Hope you can find the same for your fit!

I feel like I debunk this myth every single day on the ranger forum. Rangers are wanted by even top speed clear guilds, assuming you know what you’re doing and are running the meta.

I have never been kicked from any dungeon or fractal run because I was a ranger. And I play my ranger almost exclusively.
