Hello,
A friend has asked if I could help them come up with a greatsword build. I can provide them with new crafted armor, they currently are in knights crafted armor with zerk accessory. Not sure what runes they have.

I’d recommend Cavalier’s accessories, we aren’t a burst class and need more toughness in melee range. Runes of Divinity/Dwayna/Eagle/Ranger are all good. I personally favor Dwayna.

Thank you jpnova, do you know if cavilers can be crafted? I am not sure if she has a reserve of karma or not.

My PVE build:
0 Marksmanship
20 Skirmishing – II ; VIII
30 Wilderness Survival – IV ; X ; XII
20 Nature Magic – VI ; IX
0 Beastmastery

Armor: Soldier + Emerald Orb
Accessory: Valkyrie + Emerald Jewel
Weapon: Knight + Superior Sigil of Fire

Style: Greatsword + Trap Ranger

Pros:
Decent balance of defense and offense
Good at wiping multiple mobs

Cons:
Pet is quite easy to die. (But pet is always easy to die anyway lol)

Unfortunately not, Cavalier Exotics are all Karma. You could always go Rare till you can get Ascended of course.

My PvE/WvW build-
0 Marksmanship
10 Skirmishing- 30% Crit Damage for pet
20 Wilderness Survival- Greatsword cooldown, Wilderness Training/Oakheart Salve/Pet Condition Damage- lots of options
10 Nature Magic- 33% Regen Duration
30 Beast Mastery- Whatever trait you think fits best, Feline pet trait, Natural Regeneration

My build rotates around having a constant Regen on myself from my Runes and traits and dishing out sustainable damage while using my Jaguar for bursts and my Dog for control. You can also use Devourers and Drakes with this set up depending on the situation.
