So, is this a bug or intended? In case you didn’t know, if you command your pet to a location it can’t reach, for example, like the ledges of a WvW keep, it will teleport up there.

Beyond whether or not it’s intended, is this practical at all? I mean it gives your pet stealth, protection and apparently 100% crit chance, so it would be nice combined with a canine, feline, or bird to take out someone before calling your pet back. The shout is also on a 30s cooldown, so it’s not that long. Can anyone imaging using this skill if only for a little fun and change of pace?

I think it’d be tricky to accidentally make a skill do that, so I’m guessing it’s intentional.

I’m not much of a PvP’er, but I have tried it, and I’ve used Guard in the past to throw my pet down into the fray while remaining perched (esp. midpoints of Nifhel, Khylo, and Foefire when you jump on top of those buildings). It was good for the occasional impish grin.

In PvE I’d actually have a ton of uses for 10 seconds of protection on my pet, but the stealth component ends up working against me because a defense increase and a hatedrop aren’t exactly things I want at the same time.

Tried it, I do think it may be a bugged as the pet sort of walks up the wall, birds fly up them.

It was funny though, No one seemed to know what to do as it killed them. Um kill the pet? I would not do it anymore unless ANet tells us if It’s alowed…

It’s the only reason to use Guard. A lot of people moan about the pathing system, but Guard is a sure fire way to get your pet into almost any situation despite the terrain. If they make any changes that affect Guard’s current “teleporting” I will be extremely kitten

I figured this was intended to make up for the constant obstructions you receive when trying to attack something on top of the wall. If it’s a bug and they get rid of, they might as well just make it so rangers can’t join www at all. Or get rid of the skill itself and replace it with something useful.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Well it’s been this way since beta and I’ve reported god knows how many bug reports on it so id assume its working as intended… It’s fun putting a salamander/reef drake on the wall and having him F2 from stealth >=D so many kills, so little time…
