Guard shout, should it be changed?

The bad parts of the patch aside, Anet did at least open up a shout build, but I cant help but wonder if the guard shout should be tweaked. Does anyone actually use it for a purpose other than the stealth + protection for your pet? What’s the point of tethering your pet to an area? This seems like an ability that was rigidly designed for sPVP so Rangers could keep a pet on a point while going to do something else, but imo other than the boons/stealth it’s very inflexible.

Proposed change:
Instead of the pet guarding an area, pet shadowsteps to target area.

I vote that it shadow steps there but is still tethered there until commanded, i like to place my pet down at choke points where NPCs spawn to fend them off. It’s also quite good if you don’t care what your pet is attack just so long as it is attacking/tanking.

My favorite use is to use it with a bear pet as an initiation and just leave him as is, most enemies will be so overwhelmed with hatred and anger at your bear for ambushing them that they’ll completely ignore your friends smashing their faces in.

But yes, give me the shadow step!

PS: It’s also good for people who use their pet on Passive (or even on Protective) because your pet wont run back and forth between you/your new target when its old one dies, he’ll just keep going.

They sing dark, delicious notes about power and family.
