This is by no means a comprehensive guide, rather, it’s a path I found that works.
The first thing I do is invite an offline friend (XXXXX.1234) to my party – even though, clearly, they cannot accept, this acts as a workaround to the inability to target an enemy while “not in a party”. I found it very helpful to target chomper so in case of a misclick, I could easily target him again with the key binding.

I start with berserker armor, trinkets, and weapons. I use a sigil of ice (30% chance to chill on my shortbow, which is really the only weapon I had to use. I went 20 into marksmanship for piercing arrows and predator’s instinct. I went 30 into skirmishing for trap potency, quick draw, and pet prowess. I went 20 into wilderness survival for shared anguish and wilderness knowledge.

For all my failed runs, my build used signet of the hunt. Do not use this signet. Replacing that with spike trap made all the difference. I used lightening reflexes, frost trap, and spike trap. I had sword and warhorn on swap.

I used lifesteal food and power maintenence oil along with the rata sum crit chance buff.

• start the fight by using call of the wild against chomper as well as your snow owl’s chilly utility skill—switch to snow hound for the knockdown / chilly howl and keep the pets on a good timing as their chills are very helpful

• immediately switching to shortbow and start autoattacking

• keep an eye on strugar, when he throws the meat, get in front of chomper (should be chilled) and place one trap — eat the meat, continue attacking
  repeat this action, keeping a close eye on what strugar is doing while staying in front of chomper with traps—do not hesitate to cripple chomper with your shortbow but save the concussion shot for a last resort

• IMPORTANT: When chomper gets to approximately 1/2 health, use the elite Rampage as One so in the event of a stun attack from strugar, you can DPS chomper uninterrupted

That strategy worked for me very well. I hope that helps anyone out there who might be struggling. Ranger is very well suited for this fight having access to so much chill and traps. Good luck and happy hunting!

one question, how do you evade the pulls from Strugar I can’t seem to dodge them so end up popping RaO early.

Shortbow evade / lightening reflexes

Note that this fight isn’t “gg”. It’s still a challenge. You have to watch strugar like a hawk.

thanks for the tips, finally got them using axe/axe and sword/warhorn.

used 2 pets with aoe chill and the chill on the axe; skills were Lightning reflexes, muddy terrain and signet of toughness.
pop signet of toughness when Chomper dies for the no damage & 3 stacks of might; more might on the weapon swap and blast of the warhorn to top it off.

for food used +200 power when you kill a foe and maintenance oil, think I forgot about the buff though.

Shame I didn’t see this topic 2 days earlier I forced my way through all bosses with my standard LB build (only swapped to SB for Liadri).

I’m not sure why this should be so hard. Sword auto-attack has cripple.. Keep meleeing Chomper, run for meat whenever :i

it’s pretty easy to get meat with sword autoattack chain. Keep the cripple up, prolong with muddy terrain and when in doubt use a dodge roll to get ahead.
Keep a Longbow at hand in case Strugar decides to be a jerk and throws the meat right at Chomper’s feet.

This one was actually really easy for me. All you need is a wolf/krytan drakehound and a shortbow.

Start off DPSing Chomper (shortbow #1 and #2). When you see Strugar throw the first meat, use RaO, cripple Chomper with your shortbow #4, and grab the meat first. Turn around and DPS Chomper until you see Strugar throw another meat. Use shortbow #5 (or #4 if it’s up) to keep the dog crippled/stunned while you get the 2nd meat. Keep repeating until Chomper is dead. Your pet wolf and the krytan drakehound both have knockdown attacks that make this fight extremely easy. If you need a speed buff, use shortbow #3 for a temporary speed boost, or dodge roll to get in front of Chomper. Only took about 3 tries before I got the achieve.
