Healing Spring
i don’t have the exact #s here, but with around 1100ish healing, my regen ticks for 277, & the tooltip reads about 4,600 for the regen portion of the ability.
4600 / 277 = 16.6. it is possible the tooltip lists what you would gain if you stand in the pool for the full duration of healing spring.

Some time when they’re not playing catch-up, ANet need to sit down and re-write all the tooltips. This is one of many where the information given is either too vague or incomplete for a player to make an accurate assessment of its worth when choosing skills. Within just the Ranger profession, for example, the traps and healing spring are an utter shambles – some talk about pulses (without saying how long a pulse is) while others talk about per-second. There’s no consistency between any two.
Healing Spring puts a little ‘6’ next to the regen icon, none of the others do that. Why? Presumably it means 6 pulses? It’s a failure of documentation that the only way to work it out is to test it or ask the community.
Then Viper’s Nest doesn’t have a duration – is it instant? If it is, why does the damage field have ‘(x3)’ on it? 3 pulses, or a 3 hits at the same time? It also says [quoting from the wiki] ‘Poison: 3s (252 damage) (per pulse)’. So is that a single poison debuff of 3 seconds that pulses 3 times, or is it that the trap pulses ? many times and each pulse stacks a 3-second poison condition worth 252 damage?
OP shouldn’t have had to ask this question in the first place.
How does the regen for this skill actually pan out? Is the number listed next to the regen the total amount it would heal if someone sat in the Healing Spring for the entire duration?
Divide the total heal shown by like 18.03 and that is the value per tic. In short it’s the full value the regen will heal if you catch every regen refresh(Which is @ every 3.25 seconds which means you can dodge in and out theoretically but timing must be precise).
It does not include the additional amount of healing you will get if you trait for the +33% regen duration.

This sort of makes me feel that Healing Spring isn’t as good of a heal as I originally thought it to be.
Troll Unguent gives a far more powerful heal, even if you factor in the full duration of standing in the Spring (which isn’t all that likely to happen).
neat tip, if you trait for the healing skills to give vigor, the regen from the spring will continue to reapply vigor and give vigor to allies.
if your soloing the choice is yours, but in a group definitely go with the spring imo.
The handy thing of this game is switching on the fly out of combat. 1v1 unguent.
healing spring as a vigor generator(If in the right trait line) + aoe heal + combo finisher potential(particularly around a class with alot of blast finishers) =.
And you can switch quickly.

I tend to use Healing Spring in sPVP simply because the benefit is greater if there’s even one teammate nearby.
It’s also my only choice of condition removal as a trap Ranger, so, I do see the value. I just wish it had a bit higher potential for total healing.
