Hi all,
I’m pretty new to Ranger (level 49 ATM) I have just a couple of questions about our Sword skills, Just to confirm i have auto attack turned off on #1 and I don’t suffer animation roots, and I have auto target turned off.

I randomly jump the wrong way when just spamming the #1 skill, it’s almost like I have used #2 by accident even when I haven’t, it’s not always backwards I have jumped straight through the mob and landed some distance forward past them before, which seems to make the skill limiting in close quarters situations when there are ledges you could leap off.

And secondly can we utilise any skill based leaps with nothing targeted to aid in movement, especially in WvW as I have tried to simulate the #1 skill leap while not in combat or with nothing targeted and it doesn’t progress, I am thinking along the lines of the warrior leap and thief heartseeker that causes you to leap forward with nothing targeted and can really help movement.

Sword two skill is great for movement, and amazing as an escape tool as the first part is an evade. It takes some getting used to, and you can’t really use the “turn 180” function as it only works when perfectly stationary, you just have to manually turn around for a second for the initial part, then again for the 2nd leap.

You will randomly fly about the place with the 1 chain unless you target an enemy, if you keep them targeted you usually won’t fly around. However it can still happen if they stealth or die halfway through your chain.

If you hit things with the sword auto while you don’t have a target it will leap for the full distance. Also if your target is at range and you hit something next to you it will try and leap to your target.

For movement you can use sword 2 just turn to the opposite direction you want to travel in for the first part of the chain.
