Help make a PVE Ranger w/ max/high CritChance
If I were you, I’d run Greatsword, with Sword/Axe+Warhorn. Axe for range, Sword for DPS. Put at least 4 points into Marksmanship for Spotter (+130 precision to all allies), at least 5 into Skirmishing for raw precision, and the rest into Wilderness Survival for Two-Handed Training, which gives you fury on hit with a GS. Just a quick brainstorm, but here’s a build I threw together which gives exactly 100% crit chance with Fury and Spotter up, as well as leaving runes open for you to play with: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQNBhODbkRlWVLZxlFuWEsHULDgAuD3OoCcuFHxE2B-TBCBwAfOIAVuAAnVCiV5nkjAAO1fA8AAyrbgMA6LA-e

84% without Perception stacks and 96% with 25 stacks.
But this is true glasscannon
Seafarer’s Rest (EU): Liicher (Engi), Lii Cher (Warrior), Swf (Elem),
Licharr (Guard), Lich Eir (Ranger), Alt Fh (Thief). Lii Cherr (Mesm), S Wf (Necr)
Critical Chance = (Precision – 832) / 21 -> 100% Critical Chance = 2932 Precision
Fury is a flat +20% crit chance. Spotter gives 150 prec.
So without fury you need 2512 prec. Take the spotter and you get 2362 precision. Now you just need to get the right gear to match that 2362. If I didn’t kitten the math here ^^ . Of course you can just go full assassin, but that takes down your power.

Warhorn, Red Moa, RaO, and Weapon Swap for fury puts you at 101%. This is what I use in open world PVE
Should I use Sword/WH or Axe/WH?
Should I use Sword/WH or Axe/WH?
That’s up to you and your situation. If stacking sword. If running around in Silverwastes and want to stay mobile… axe.
Get each and try it out.
