Help me build
We can not come up a build for you. It is on you to make it for your play style. I can come up with like 3 builds but all 3 of those builds could be bad for your play style. Play around in PVP and make a build that you like.
[GWAM] and [LUST]
Mess with the best, die like the rest.
Play around in PVP and make a build that you like.
^ That or you can simply run around naked carrying a longbow and axe/warhorn. I’m sure fighting up-levels in WvW would be fine.
Mao Xiong – Worst Warrior GW2
Those weapons are my play style. Now I need a build that best suits the use of said weapons. Come on ranger community get this done!

All kidding aside… You’re probably not going to be able to run one build for both PvP and PvE. You often can’t run the same equipment, unless you mean WvW and not sPvP, but even then you won’t probably want to run the same gear for WvW and PvE. WvW is primarily about not dying while doing reasonable damage, where PvE is primarily about dealing as much damage as possible.
Longbow is primarily a power weapon, and MH axe is one of the lowest damage power weapons in the game, because it requires bounces to do anything like full damage. Conditions on axe are a little better, but still somewhat lackluster, while warhorn is also primarily power.
Are you looking for a high power squishy PvE build? A tanky power WvW or PvP build? Tanky conditions?
Well I was looking for a build that could use those weapon sets but as I thought one was more power and the other was more conditions. I was seeing if there was a build to be able to use both. I don’t mind having two sets of gear for wvw, I just was hoping to be able to use those two as they are my favs.
A power AND condition build is going to be very squishy, not very good at either, and no use in WvW.
So longbow, sword/ wh is really my best option I guess huh? Or just go with a full condition build using SB, axe/torch. I thought maybe someone could see a build I was missing to combine my two fav weapon swaps. Well thanks for the replies anyways! I love this class anyway and will stick with it. My main is a necro and I don’t like him anymore now that I rolled a ranger.
Pretty much. That’s why Suddenflame said:

Look in the ranger build thread, I’m sure something will catch your eye.
I did and as I thought it’s either power, bunker, or condition. Which those two weapons don’t both work together. I was only half serious with the thread anyway. Just seeing if maybe could wow me or see one I missed.
challenge accepted:
with some changes it could work for both pve and wvw. i made this build with the upcoming changes for moving spirits in mind.
ling to the wvw setup:

100% up time for – fury, regeneration, swiftness, 10-13 might for you 25 might for pet.
strong heals, 2600 armor, 20k life.
when you run pve – change pets(to drakes), arrows to spotter, sigil of fire to sigil of life.
if you dont like roaming spirits take sic’em+rampage as one- change spirits traits to the protection trait and boon duration for pets trait with jungle stalker(tons of might).
HO sorry the second pet is forest spider not jungle spider.
As guys above said, sPvP is your own choice. You don’t need to spend gold etc on items in there. For PvE the build above has proven very viable for me. When I go into WvW (roaming with full party, not running in zerg) I would often change the Skirmishing traits for Agility Training (and then change the spider for another canine), Quick Draw and Sharpened Edges. In Wilderness Survival I’d go with Wilderness Knowledge and then change the utilities to Muddy Terrain, Lighting Reflexes and Quickening Zephyr. Weapon choice would be main LB and SB or SW/Wh. QZ with SW #1 wipes a guy quite fast.
Lugh I’m going to give this a go. I’ll will let you know how it works out.
