Help me pick druid
Ranger is currently powerful (Almost overpowered!), versatile and fairly simple to play in all aspects of PvE.
For open world exploring and dungeons, power sets are good to have.
For fractals, raids, world-bosses or just in general; condi is the go-to damage set.
For raids, healing sets are very useful to have and can be acquired very cheaply (Exotic Magi’s from the AC dungeon). Healing is mostly only used in raids, but can be useful during some of the bigger world bosses.
I would make a condi set first, as it’s extremely good at everything. If you want to raid a healing set should be your second priority.
I run my Magi set on my Druid on literally everything, since I like playing as a support/healer, and Druid buffs the party’s damage quite significantly by healing, that and I don’t trust most PuGs to have any self survival instinct or ability to stay off the floor.
That being said, Condi gear is extremely nice to have as a ranger/Druid, condi ranger is some of the highest damage in the game last I checked, and condi Druid actually does pretty decently, but trades some of its damage away for the avatar state and the support/healing it provides.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
I ran power druid first, and felt pretty strong. Then I decided to give condi druid a try and I was like, “…Yep, this is stronger.” And then I gave pure condi ranger a try, and DANG. Much more DPS! The whole “jack of all trades, master of none” really still applies to "hybrid"druid builds; they do both weak DPS and weak healing compared to the available specialist builds.
Hybrid druid is a buff mule that is not dragging the team down as much as healing druid dps-wise. Experienced teams prefer average dps and mediocre healing than bad dps and good healing.
In all honesty, ranger/druid is a decent class. It depends on the player. With a power build with sword/axe or longbow/staff i can pretty much go everywhere. If you aren’t comfortable in zerker armor use marauders/kinght/valkyrie and zerk trinkets. The dps loss isn’t that bad if you don’t plan on doing raids or t4 fracs.

True I guess, but OP just started. Probably a lot of PUGs in their future. And no PUG should be considered experienced IMO. Schrodinger’s noobs.
