I will caveat this by saying i don’t consider myself a “top” player in GW2 so my Ranger build for WvW is designed mostly to run in small groups, although I have been able to solo most camps with it.
i run 20 (VI, III) /20 (II, X) /30 (VI, IX, XI) /0/0 with a rampager’s shortbow (agony) and axe/warhorn on off hand with rampager’s armor and krait/centaur/afflicted.
skills are Zephers, Sharpening Stones, and the Switfness Singet…with elite being the entangle skill.
Usually i open with call of wild on warhorn then splitblade on axw, switch to shortbown from range and fire cripple shot, then use skills sharpe stone and zepher and then spam the skill 1 on short bow….by the time i have gone through this in about 3-5 secs i hit 20-25 bleed stacks depending on crit and it ticks about 1300-1800 a sec plus physical damage.
Downside is of course if you get caught up in melee you are going to be squishy so its important to always be moving and stay at range when possible. Also if the remove condition, which isnt hard, you have to be prepared to stay ranged until you can cycle again, which is ony a few seconds of cooldown.
Like i said, i dont see myself as a top or even very good player, i know my limitations but in 10 days with this build I have more kills in WvW than i did in 4 months with my warrior.
Its works best with a small group or zerg and you stay behind the front line, also if you sort of run around the fringes of the enemy zerg looking for players straggling it can take them down safely.
