Guild Wars 2

I have only leveled one character to 80, but I hardly began to gear him up how I wanted before I started my ranger and decided to make it my main. I know what kind of build I want, but don’t know what exactly I’m looking for or where to start.

I plan on doing dungeons more than anything. I’m looking for a build that focuses on survival so I’m not getting one shot, but also want a good amount of damage. Also, I would like a decent amount of condition damage if possible so my bleeds are actually doing some good damage.

I’m seven, close to six levels away from hitting 80, so I would like to have a plan for what I’m doing when I hit 80. Any help is appreciated.

I would say first thing to do at 80 is to get a full exotic set; either by karma or just buy pieces.. If you haven’t already started, start doing dailies and finish the monthly ASAP. I got an exotic karma set within a week doing the monthly and dailies and then look at which set you want (I personally recommend the pow/tough/vit; good for survability and burst).

My starting traits were 30/0/30/0/10 I think, without thinking exactly what I wanted that gave me some good dmg and good survivability.. Probly not the best but a good starting point.

I’m not the best at builds and such right now but I don’t think you can have both burst, tankyness and condition damage all in one build. You’ll just spread yourself too thin, choose two and build yourself around those.

well 20/0/30/20/10 is decent from what I can tell. Which is what I run and I use sb and gs ( mainly sb ). I use healing/toughness/power accessories and conditional/power/vitality armor and conditional runes.

I do good conditional damage and am very survivable.

Ummmm 20/0/30/20/10 is impossible but I use 20/30/10/0/10 and im a power/prec/crit ranger using Knights armor and accessories. Knights works perfectly giving me toughness prec and power. Obviously berserkers would be better but I would be full glass cannon then making me no help in dungeons. Try getting exotics asap. You can buy cheap masterwork 80 armor while you work on exotics. I think the dungeon armor is probably the easiest to get.
