Hi! i’m so noob with the ranger (lvl 40 by now) and I’m trying to focus to a condition damage and some tanky build as said in the title. I go with polar and arctodus and I use shortbow – sword/torch, the armour go with the defense (tough-vit-pow) and the jewlery with damage. But I can’t decide skills (the only sure one is Signet of Stone) and traits.
Can you give me some advices or builds you use? (I play PVE)
Thanks in advance and sorry if my english is not so good ^^U

First off, I would look at the other posts on this forum, there are a few builds posted that are tanky condition dmg bulids.

Second, if you are to go condition dmg, use an armour type that has condition dmg. Using an armour that has power is just a waste of stats …

Yes, I’m looking but I don’t find anything that fits. And in the armor I’ll put the cond damage with the runes, I want the tough and vit in the base stats for survive and if I’m not wrong tough and vit comes with power, cond and tough go with precision, and I think precision is a bigger waste.

need to copy/paste or wont work

I have ran this build for a long time now. It’s a trap/cond/tough build. I left utility3 & elite blank since I swap those out depending the fight or what Im doing. My armor gear pow/vit/cond all other gear is tough/prec/cond. On another note imo precision is a nice stat for a cond build paired w/Sharpened Edges. The 10 in nature can be swapped for markmanship if choose so, but a waste in beastmastery.
High mobility, cond dmg, & survival.
Pets I mostly use bear or spider depending on fight.
Weapons: SB & axe/torch combo yourself fire w/real nice AE bleed dmg to top.
My runes are Nightmarex5 + 1grenth (or any other that will replace the 1sec fear nightmare 6th set bonus when hit from nightmare to +28cond dmg 6set bonus 128cond dmg) and superior sigil of corruption on axe/SB +burn sigil on torch.

Happy hunting

there are new craftable weapons (not sure about armor?) with the karka shells, that provide condition dmg / toughness / healing.

if these are available as exotic versions and for weapons and armors, these should provide you the most survivability along with conditiondmg, id preferably take healing over vitality anyway. (Besides there arent any armors or weapons with cond / tough / vit, This combination is not available)

otherwise get those dungeon or karma armors with conditiondmg / toughness / precision. dont underestimate precision for a condition build with the trait + rune of the earth that stack extra bleedings on crits.

edit: just checked, the karka armors (… of the apothecary) are craftable for all weapons and armors and as exotics, probably gonna craft myself one of these sets as well.

Well, I hadn’t thought in the sigil and that trait (in fact I didn’t noticed it, as I said, I’m not so use to the ranger yet xD) in that case and growing the crit/crit damage tree it’s useful yes.
Thanks for the advices guys, I’ll try the tramper build

Ya the skirmishing tree is top for a cond build, our traps when traited can melt away packs, the bleed on crit is just icing on the cake. The only problem w/this build is once mastered it’s very hard to go back to any other build (pve/dungeon farming).
