Horrible design of glyphs
While I agree with you on using glyphs on af is waste , Ido love use them in pvp + sigh of the stone and entragle really fun in my opinion
I just have a feeling I’m able to heal everyone faster if I just skip using them and go straight to healing.
Glyph of Unity’s initial tether range is the only thing I don’t like about it. Both the initial and max range should have been 600.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
glyph in CAF its a waste. the only one that do something is Rejuvenation because you can heal a chunk of 6-8K at once.
but even then o wouldn’t advise to use it because you’ll lose your burst heal.
also you can heal that much with lunar impact+rejuvenating tides
yes although i have to say the idea of the changing glyphs did sound nice in practice its just unplayable. Why dont they use the CAF glyphs to rework the CAF skills and leave the glyphs in their normal state?
however the glyphs in general as i pointed out here long time ago have an horrible mechanic. They behave like a really short range shouts, without the synergy of the shouts.
As i pointed out in that thread would be a good idea to rework the glyphs as pulses. you activate the glyph and the pulse for some duration and that could solve all the issues with them
for example:
glyph of unity pulse once a second and tether you to up to 5 foes in range. if one of them leave the range or die, you will be tethered to another.
glyph of empowerment the same but with the boon to allies. the boon would be shorter to compensate.
glyph of aligment the same, pulsing effect. Although i would change the effect to poison and immobilise. just to make it fun, now it’s too bland.
glyphs of tides, rejuvenating and equality are fine although would be famtastic if they could get the pulses effect as well. just to make them interesting instead just shoot and forget. for example casting two pulses of tides could be amazing to help to ress a downed compadre. and also would reinforce the druid as a team player.
CAF could benefit for the CAF glyphs to change the skills that are not used.
- Natural Convergence gets the pull effect from tides. as i said an small pull pulse every second would make wonders to avoid being bursted down in melee when casting this skill
- Rejuvenating tides could use the equality effect. so team members that go out from the small 240 radius could still benefit from the healing.
- Lunar Impact could also break stun of allies.
- Seeds of life does the same as glyph of alignment. *Just please change the animation from a bursting pustule to something more appropriate, a flower growing or alike.
- Cosmic Ray could easily increase the healing of affected allies.
that way we still can use the normal glyphs that are actually usable. And if they pulse (more glyphs alike, something you carve so stay) instead work as a shout, even better.
I would also Change the Glyph of Equality in CAF to:
“Breaks stun and grants 3 stacks of stability for 5 seconds. 5 Targets”
The benefit of current mechanic is way too gated on a way too long cooldown to be considered ever being used in CAF"
I really like glyph of tides . Both in and out of CF. It has so many uses in wvw/pvp. You can stop stomps, or interrupt an entire group with this skill.
Glyph of equality is nothing exciting, but it is our lowest cd stunbreak. It works very well for bunkering builds where you can’t afford to be locked down. I really only use this in CAF if I am being locked down, its often to hard to communicate with other people to stunbreak for them.
Glyph of empowerment is useful for pve, that is about it. I like the fact that we have a short cooldown active damage boost for the group. Frankly its a little on the light side considering its duration and cool down. The CAF side of things is meh I’d rather be giving the damage boost.
Glyph of alignment do not like in either form. I find it’s just not an impactful skill at all.
I Play WvW to have fun. I don’t find it fun anymore. Therefore I don’t play.

It’s mathematical Berserker damage boost is 3,75% for 5 people when traited (less in practice since you are always one of them and your pet is not affected).
And that is practically what I’m talking about. Almost no Glyph besides Glyph of Tides is worth using. And even Glyph of Tides is not worth using. If you are in CAF – you want to heal people stacked and keep enemies out. Not the other way round.

The glyphs them selves I do agree with on not being impactful(with the exception of tides). The seeds they drop if traited are useful as condi clear which is really the only redeeming quality and reason I even slot glyphs.
GoT, left me clarify, the only time I use this in CAF is to setup convergence on a group of people/mobs. The slow and immobilize can be very disruptive in a clumped fight.
GoE is only a 3.75 boost for 5 people. I agree with this, however, its worth more after breakbars. Oddly, I find the rotation to break down bars has the same same cd as GoE coincidence? not likely. I totally agree that this skill needs more beef to it either in intensity or duration.

And I don’t really think I’m the only one who thinks that using glyphs in CAF regardless of situation is a waste.
Glyph of Alignment. It’s the only avatar related skill that removes conditions instantly, been using it alot on PvP. The avatar versions of the heal and elite glyphs have seen a lot of use in raids.
Other than that, ye, I get more use of them when not in avatar form. That’s not saying I haven’t had use of the pull from Glyph of Tides.
The avatar version of Glyph of Equality could use a stack of aoe stability tied to it, the elite needs more teether range. But I’m mostly fine with them.
yeah glyphs are bad. Nothing to add
Can anyone please explain to me who is going to use the glyphs in this form?
I only play WvW (scrim/gvg) and I do use 3 or 4 of them depending on my build.
- Glyph of Rejuvenation is a great emergency heal both in and out of CAF
- Glyph of Alignment in CAF is one of our strongest burst heal
- Glyph of Equality in CAF saves life if you pay enough attention to stun break your teammates when they are stuck in a bomb
- Glyph of the Tides in CAF has some use to stack/restack enemies in a bomb
I don’t know about Unity and Empowerment, I don’t PvE :/
On another hand, I’m more concerned by our CAF resource generation (a 120 rejuv tick generating as much as a 5000 heal, wtf?) and starting some fights with 0% AF (no out of combat regeneration, wtf?).
