I’m trying to make a melee sword/axe ranger work by using two tanked up bears to draw aggro. It works except for the part where I have to switch to a bow against bosses and attack from orbit.

Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is that when I click on an enemy and press F1 my bear is supposed to run over and attack. What happens instead at least 50% of the time is that the bear 1/ stands there and does nothing; 2/ runs off at a right angle and eventually circles around to attack the enemy while collecting every monster in the zone; or 3/ runs past the enemy to attack from behind while I get aggroed on.

Clearly this AI is “special” and hard to handle. Is there a trick to work around these bugs and make a pet just head straight for an enemy no matter what? I’m pretty sick of getting in all sorts of trouble thanks to these issues when it should be so simple.

No problems with any of the pets F1 skills overhere ..
F2 is a different story tough

No problems here either. Not sure what’s wrong with your bear. Maybe he just needs a bit more TLC or believes you can handle more than you try.

It would be nice if they’d be specific with what’s been fixed, but either way I’d say give it another go later on.

I have the same problem which led me to bind F keys to Q E R, so I can control it faster.

My pet almost always stops doing anything when fighting against multiple targets after you kill the first target.

It might have something to do with melee and short range combat in general.
