How to Obtain White Raven?
1.I haven’t heard of any plans on making HoM items acquired by other means than GW1.
2.You can get points for HoM now. You need GW1 for HoM.

how long would it take and which parts of GW would i need to buy?
And don’t know how long it would take, but you’ll need 1 campaign (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) and the expansion (Eye of the North).

would love input on how long it would take. thanks for the info.
It would take a pretty hefty investment if you’re starting from scratch. The white raven requires 25 points in your Hall of Monuments. For long time GW players, that isn’t much, but starting new you would have to accomplish quite a lot or have a rich GW buddy to help you buy your way there.
i will be passing on this, thanks.
don’t buy gw1 just for HoM lol rewards are worthless. Not only that but getting hom points in a deserted gw1 will be the most boring experience you’ll have and don’t expect to do missions on hard with heroes/henchies

Personally I liked GW1 and never played it as anything but single player. Doing missions on hard and vanquishing with heroes/henchies is perfectly possible and if you use a good mesmer/necro setup it’s actually afk-easy.
@OP
You would want Nightfall and Eye of the North bare minimum if you wanted to go for HoM rewards simply because Nightfall provides the most points for the least effort but all 3 campaigns in a box together is only like $20-$30 so you’d likely end up with all 3 anyway.
If you did a good amount of research and went only for the easiest points possible you could probably get the White Raven in ~200 hours (starting from scratch with no outside assistance from other players).
As a gw1 player I can say its going to take a while and without the community that it used to have it could take even longer. No idea on numbers but definately longer than it takes to beat all 3 campaigns plus the expansion. The thing is though the white raven is useless as it has worse stats than the regular raven.
i guess youve never seen double raven builds? you use ravens for their F2 only. i was hoping to roll with double raven in WvW, but i guess i’ll be sticking with jag/raven.
Ye i want a white raven as well, but i gave up tbh. What annoys me the most tho is the ONLY decent shortbow skin in the game (i’m talking about the living shortbow ofc) is a hom reward only. I’d pay real money for that skin.
i really like the warden weapons my guard and ranger. sword, dagger and GS are beautiful. SB and staff are pretty cool too.
anyway, i hope they either normalize bird dps, or make the white raven available through some other means.
they wont make them available otherwise (at least i hope), and the fact that you can use 2 pets with identical strong f2’s (ravens and black widow + jungle spider => 2 stuns) is the reason why these have lowered stats compared to other pets in their family, otherwise hom would actually reward a huge bonus to gw1 players, when it should be only for aesthetics.
i still think gw1 is a quiet nice game to play through the campaign with a friend or two + henchmen once or twice, but do not expect it to be anything like gw2 or you will hate it.
there are tons of guides in the internet on how to make 30 points the fastest way, or in the cheapest way (gold) ect. and it definitely wont take you 200 hours if you follow it efficiently, i think a friend of me got 30 points in somewhat about 100+ hours but a lot of this time has just been “wasted”, was afk or just did something else in the game for fun, not contributing to the hom.
Meh, I don’t use the HoM pets since their stats are inferior. The only time I’ve use it is for armour skins – if I pick up something I don’t like, I can often find something I prefer in the HoM. Did that with my charr med armour yesterday.

Double raven blind and burst makes the ravens one of the best pets in the game. The only reason I run hawk and eagle is because I prefer the faster cooldowns.
at least i hope
You hope?? Lol. Ah so i’m not supposed to get the only decent looking shortbow in this game only cos i haven’t played eye of the north. Right. Most of those rewards are just for aesthetics, i don’t really see the problem if other players could get them in the gem store.
How is it the only decent shortbow in the game? I used it for a bit, but it didn’t do much for me. I felt like it was something only a Sylvari would understand. :P
I troll because I care
Wow, I can’t believe you’d consider sinking so much time into another game just to get a white raven. Hawk and Eagle are better anyway, they can land two F2 attacks before pet swap cooldown.

Nah my ranger is human. I just really like the living bow skin. Is well detailed and fits the ranger class. Plus is made of wood at least, i mean most of the bows in this game don’t look like bows at all.

The best looking bows in the game are Wintersbark, Aether, Azureflame and Kudzu IMO.

I loved the Living Shortbow skin as it fit my Sylvari ranger perfectly and used it for a very long time! However, then I came across these:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bow_of_the_White_Hart
Based on the Ivory Bow from the original Guild Wars, I really loved the elegant beauty of their design. And because my Sylvari chose the White Stag in her storyline, the names of these two bows were like a match made in heaven for me.
But I’m derailing the topic here, my apologies…
As for the White Raven, I’m afraid you’re going to have to get Guild Wars with the Eye of the North (don’t worry they’re cheap), link it to your Guild Wars 2 account and read up on some guides on how to amass a lot of HoM points.
As I arrived very late on the scene I was only able to play Guild Wars for about a month in anticipation of the release of Guild Wars 2. However, in that brief period of time I was still able to get at least 11 points. Not nearly enough to get me any of the special pets, but it was still a pretty enjoyable experience (even when I only had Henchmen and Heroes).
However, getting 25 points will still take a decent amount of time and effort (because they were meant as rewards for dedicated fans of the original). I believe someone stated ~200 hours on average and I think it’s a good indication.
What I wouldn’t give for someone with a Guild Wars account willing to give me some armor tokens, rare minis or weapons in order to boost my points to 25.
