How to beat heralds in WvW?
I just dump conditions on them. Although I don’t see many rev roamers, and I have yet to come across a mallyx one.
what build pls?
There is no build, just dump conditions on them. If they are mallyx (unlikely) then you might have a problem.
Ranger mobility is like a hard counter to Revs to me, I just destroy them because they can’t catch you or get away. Especially If you are using Druid and Staff/GS.
Most of the time when I roam, its with vanilla melee ranger and revs go down a lot.
I build tanky because I’m not that good or have fast reactions, also high ping and I don’t seem to have much drama with Revenants unless they are condi, though same goes for all condi builds which just seem to be absurd right now in Trailblazers or Dire gear.
I really like my Vanilla Melee Ranger Build because it can stand toe to toe with most roamers and give me a chance to react at least.
Both of their (power herald) heals are pretty crappy unless they “work”. Their other major annoying defense is sword 3 which is pretty easy to interrupt. Those are the main things I look for.
I’m a pretty mediocre herald player though, you might get better answers on their forum.
Also like Justine said, the power revs have pretty much zero condi clear.

Heralds Roamers don’t use hammer but sword/shield (sometime axe) and staff, marauder gear and durability runes.
I, myself too, (as a power druid, not too tanky) have some issues with this kind of herald who are near to impossible to beat when at least equally skilled. They are ready to dodge, evade and block all your rotations on demand while doing huge damage.
And on top of that, if they use legandary weapons, they’re really too shiny and difficult to read even if they use the same rotation over and over (well, i feel more upset about it with heralds compared to other classes).
The boring part is that you also need a very good pet management and call back (or avoid combat with the new key) your pet when they use the shield, wich is normally unnecessary with other classes in a 1vs1.
If someone have better advice rather than going condi or high bunker, i’m also interrested.

I’d like to think I posted some.
The two heals power revs take heal for less than 4k combined unless you allow the rev to trigger their mechanics. So you can whittle them down with that in mind. If a rev pops the shiro heal, most of the time he’ll use sword 3 to trigger all the minor heals and add extra damage. Interrupt sword 3 (one of their best defensive skills) and he’s now in a vulnerable position with probably only a few K health left. If he has stab up, you can break the UA in a wall or with some pathing things, or stack 2 interrupts since the rev only has 1 stack of stab.
Is that even possible?…these guys seems literally immortal with dmg that defy logic..no trouble with any other profession, I win some..I lose some, but against herald..I don’t seem to have the slightest chance -__-
Druid, the build i posted on another thread and cascade of CC + immob.
They will melt under your Dreamer. Quite fast actually.
Same applied to warriors but in a larger time scale.
i love slowly melting warriors with the Dreamer.

As power i usually dps them and stay aware for unrelenting assault. The moment they use it i evade or use blocks or evasion skills. I also abuse my mobility to counter theirs, which is only shiro’s teleport. Then watch out for their heals and stop dps and make your pet stop dps while its active.

Giving the smokescale any other command interrupts SA. Recall it, use the smoke field, and I think giving it another target, although I’m not 100% sure on that last one.

Idk how much armor you got but try to get it at 2700 at least. Its kinda of a sweet spot for roamers.
About rev’s heal, you really must pay attention to his bar and when you see he pop the 2nd part of his heal, call back your pet and completly stop attack for the heal duration. I know it may be hard at first but you’ll get the practice of it with time. xD
Here is a video of mine fighting a Rev, he is using hammer but you can see the part where he tries to heal but i completly stop attack him and he only healed for 5% of his hp. After that he has nothing else to do.

There lies (quite possibly) your issue. A properly geared and played power revenant is going to outsustain you every time. With those stats I’m pretty sure you’re overly tanky.
Druids have all the tools to counter a revenant/herald.
You need more damage.

glint heal = swap to staff + recall pet.
your damage wont be enough to heal them for much. Immob’em so they don’t run away.
swap to real weapon. chain cc + immob. Done let’s go celebrate.
Revenants for 1v1 combat is not an ezmode class(only hamrev for groups, that build is super cheese annoying with the 15k hammer#2 and 5k autos) , if the player is bad you will kill him fast. If you get outplayed (that happens as the rev has counters against druids) your only choice is to get better.
Annoying are the DH now… When did they get like 10 seconds total immunity? warriors already have like 14 seconds, engie got it as well… i though Anet nerfed the sustain in druid and ele because they wanted a faster gameplay…

But well Anet wants to sell the expansion i guess.
if you find them annoying just run away. No point to fight cheesy OP builds.

It’s not easy to run away from phase traversal.
I’ve fought some highly skilled Heralds on my Druid and those are near impossible to beat. In almost every scenario the fight has myself on the full defensive with the herald engaging every moment he can. In both condi and power builds they have the advantage with superior burst and sustain.
Unless you’re a god Druid, or you know that they’re not that great at Herald, don’t fight them.
Edit: Also, if you don’t use Staff, you’re most probably gonna get creamed either way.
