How will you use Quick Draw?
Simple usage:
1. PBS -> RF-> -> 1 x n ->3 when enemy gap close -> switch to GS -> double leap to make distance -> run -> Switch to LB -> double RF -> profit.
The obvious ones are rapid fire and maul but I suspect I’ll be using double leaps quite often in wvw, and get near endless evades on my condi ranger aswell
I’ll try and resist, but I’ll end up running it in builds with weapon skills so as to obtain maximum synergy.
But in all seriousness, I’ve been theory crafting “combo” Rangers since I first saw this trait. Path of Scars switch to GS for a Remorseless Maul, followed by a Red Moa taunt to guarantee a second. The CC and spike damage will be exquisite.
“There, it’s dead and it’s never coming back!” – Famous last words
I’m kinda liking the idea of 6 seconds of stealth on the longbow to help avoid those nasty bursts or wait for your heal to come off cooldown. Should be a lot of very skillful situational play around this one ability.
I expect to see high level players do wonders with this trait in melee builds (GS/S-A) with MOC/ remorseless combos.
Double Bonfire.
PvE it will be either Maul + PoS or RF + PoS.
PvP I may end not even using Quick Draw, if I do it will be similar to that Lenor is thinking and me a combo of bonfire and hunter’s call to get fire and bleeding for days
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
For condition builds … 5 stacks of Bleeding/Poison will hurt … especially with 33%/25% damage … and poison stacking now.
- Double Poison Volley
- Double Splitblade
Additionally, if people thought Sword+Torch & Axe+Dagger could evade a large amount … hello Quick Draw :-)
Double blast finishers from Horn in Water/Fire fields.
Double leap finishers from Greatsword/Sword in Water/Fire fields.
So many good options.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
Could even get a little more bizarre. Throw Sigil of Rage on the Double Rf for quickness for a further damage spike…
Literally endless weird and wonderful combos to have fun with.
I’m not a big fan of sigil of rage as I prefer more control over when I get Quickness … but I’m with you there …
Pet Swap for Might(x4), Fury, Swiftness, and Quickness … Rapid Fire.
Nice side-effect of using Quickness for Rapid Fire … Rapid Fire’s is a channeled ability so goes on cooldown at the end of the channel. Quickness causes it to channel more quickly so it will go on cooldown more quickly which means it will be off cooldown more quickly.
Enjoy :-)

You know that Sigil of Rage has a 30s ICD, right? That is why it is so cheap and no one uses.
EDIT: BTW after update QZ will be a beast, I’m sure every power build will have it in their bar.

Technically you will get most value out of it by using high cooldown skills such as Barrage and Call of the Wild, which would both have a 10s cooldown instead of 30s.
But most people will use it for cooldowns which are already short like Maul. It might be a waste to do so. Still, dual Maul is deadly when both hit. Also, the trait refreshes on weapon swap (10s), so you could hardly ever call it wasted.
It’ll work well with any type of build because it can affect them all. There is no restriction.
I think I’ll mostly use it for dual Swoop to create distance.
The real reason I’m going to run Quick Draw is because I want Spotter and Hunter’s Tactics and the other GM traits are terrible. I was leaning towards using Light on your Feet with a Longbow when it gave 10% damage while moving. Now Quickdraw wins by a landslide. I’m ok with it because Quick Draw offers far more interesting gameplay than 10% damage, so being forced to use it might actually work out great.
I plan on utilizing it in basic pve to take advantage of Remorseless GS since I hate the sword. However, I definitely won’t be using it in pvp due the power creep requiring more defense if I want to get anything done with a power build.
I typically go condi ranger and I really think the attractiveness of ws, nature magic and beastmastery outweighs quick draw. Sure, a double split blade would be nice but an on demand weakness blind and taunt for f2 from beastmastery will be very strong. It will actually make our pet mechanic quite powerful in pvp, in my opinion.
I’m actually looking forward to Moment of Clarity GS+Shortbow combination.
So many stun-breakers blown.
I can’t wait to see the GS/SB, Taunt, Hyena, Spike Trap frustration. If nothing else – for roaming in WvW I’d have my wonderful moments of joy.

Quick Draw isn’t the only attractive trait in Skirmishing, there’s crit bleeds and 33% bleed dmg, both of which are considerable traits when building a condition build. NM only offers selfish defenses so BM will be imo the preferred choice as the third specialization, just for the utility it offers with aoe weakness/taunt (not to mention pet CD reduction for more CC/dmg). Sure Allies’ Aid is useful, but BM utility imo outweighs NM. Although I’ll admit I am going to miss Evasive Purity ;_;
WS being taken is a given :P
On topic:
I’ll use Quick Draw probably mostly on evades or interrupt. Ofc the situations differ and you might need double Poison Volley but that’s the beauty of Quick Draw, it offers so much active play and decision making in the moment.

@Tragic Positive.9356:
Uh oh … do I have a convert to the Greatsword & Shortbow Moment of Clarity idea?! :-)
I think you might get more CC overall taking a pet with a faster F2 CD than the Hyena … though two Hyena’s providing CC can be nice. We’ll have to see how good/bad the BM Taunt is.

Path of Scars —> Maul —> Hilt bash —> Maul, can’t wait to try it! \(^o^)/

Yeah 5s PoS and 2s Maul will be beautiful
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I will use Quick Draw to:
Crush my enemies. See them driven them before me. Hear the lamentations of their women.

Double maul crit with Intel sigil. I can’t wait to…
PoS->entangle->swap->maul->hilt bash->maul-> /cheer
Hopefully with opening strike and moment of clarity(was not able to pick up in my current build) damage boosts I’ll finally be able to push to that 20k maul in wvw. (highest so far is 15k on a poor theif, avg is 9-12k).
another fun one could be double path of scars. inb4 scorpion ranger yelling GET OVER HERE.
I Play WvW to have fun. I don’t find it fun anymore. Therefore I don’t play.

But one thing I’ll definitely want to try.
…
The full evade Hybrid Ranger. I mean … Sword+Dagger; Shortbow
Lightning Reflexes, Zephyr, Muddy Terrain, Entangle.
Tango Ranger, anyone?

Yeah, pretty keen on this too, but I’ll be throwing Hidden Pistol in there too

Hidden- who?
Where did you get that? I want one too. Or am I just missing something?
Hidden Pistol. It only works if you are a Charr. 3/4s Evade on a 15s CD is pretty nice and its a projectile finisher as well.

Oooooh, I see.
I’m waiting for my time to answer Mordremoth’s call… So … I had no idea.

Hahahaha.
I will try a dual longbow troll build:
The living arrowcart.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
