Currently, this skill takes about 4 seconds total to deal all its damage. An idea that floats around my head is if the number of attacks was halved to 8 instead of 16 and the damage of each attack was doubled, thereby reducing the total channel time to around 2 seconds while retaining the total amount of damage. In addition to this, since your opponent will only be struck constantly for two seconds, having each attack apply blind wouldn’t be too strong since they’d only be shut down for two seconds instead of four.

The only thing I like about the skill is the long channeling time. When fighting against someone, who is aware of the damage he can take and has utility to escape just in time, this skill becomes very important.
E.g. the enemy starts invisibility and cleanses conditions and dies from the Hunter’s Calls damage in invisibility. So I only use Hunters Call if my enemy is low life.
Also be carefull with retaliation

Anyway the damage of the skill is way too low. But please don’t lower channeling time of this skill. Horn is not a weapon for a burst build.

Hunters call is a good skill that people just don’t appreciate.
blind “immunity” for duration
17 tics for sharpened edges if looking at condi or hybrid
no aiming required after cast, and hawks will help keep track of targets like mesmer

The list goes on
really if you want I can increase that list

I can second Justine’s thought.

Hunter’s Call is absolutely fine, but needs another niche of sort. Anything (but not the damage) of what has been proposed a hundred of times already.

And dont’t forget…its 16 hits! With a nice critical hit chance & a sigil of strength….Combine that with Fortifying bonds & Companions might…kitten bro! Thats an easy 15 stacks of might for your pet!

Sigils have cooldowns, but their proc is literally pushed to the highest efficiency.
What concerns the traits – yes, that’s what is amazing about Horn.
Don’t forget you can make it 32 with Quick Draw.

Hunter’s call is awesome. You can apply lots of bleed, and/or lot of might with the crits ability of this skill.
