Alo Rangers Three Minutes Here.
Im a long long time player of this class with a love hate relationship for it. Anyhow straight to it.

I updated the Hybrid Longbow with the most optimal items available for both solo wvw and zerg play.

Idea behind the build is to maintain 70 to 80% of the frontload damage of the power weapons but adding in Conditions.

What this will do is force cooldowns, keep players in combat even if they line of sight.

With the current roamers this is very strong.

Looks interesting but the lack of speed would drive me nuts. I’d personally need to throw on some traveler runes.

Looking at the roaming build, is it really worth using 2 traits on a single utility?

Also for roaming, in my opinion at least, RTW and Eagle Eye are nearly mandatory longbow traits to take.

Eagle eye for engaging enemies from further away. distance and positioning is vital in roaming. Also a 5% DPS boost

RTW so you can actually land hits from far away. also a 10% attack speed boost

so it’s basically 15% dps boost in longbow, and you get better engage and positioning options, which you’re giving up on :/

just doesn’t seem like it would ever not be worth the investment in a 1v1 power build

Druid main, 80 on all, Legendary ranked, Eternal and all that jazz (I go by Feyris in game)

I use a similar build although I prefer running it like your zerg version only with full points in wilderness over survival and going with signets with celestial armor.

In your case I would consider using Mad King runes and also gettting the cactus fruit salad food I think it would benefit you more, since you also use greatsword it might work well to get barkskin over empathic bond if you swap to healing spring instead, the double leap gives you roughly the same healing as troll but in a burst heal with some added regen and condi cleanse ontop.

Oh hey. I think I saw you playing this on stream a couple weeks ago.

That sun spirit does so little damage when you’re alone I have to wonder if there is a better skill for that slot. I think you’d get more out of QZ or one of the signets, MT, maybe even flame trap.

QZ is great, would it work in a hybrid build… I dont know because of the cooldown on the condi application. Few things I really dislike about QZ in any build is…
60 second cooldown untraited
Reduces all healing on yourself by 50% for 6 seconds. Worse than any poison in game and is very counter productive if you have troll urgent active.

The damage of the sun spirit if you compare to a full condi build wont give you those numbers. On the flip side those condi builds wont do the frontload damage of this build either.

Combined with bleed, poison and torment the sun spirit its not easily ignored @ 1500 range and also provides a AOE blind. If they block or line of sight it (the build) still does damage, if they remove the condis it still does above average frontload damage.

Now this isnt to say every build doesnt have its noticeable flaws. Im not trying to pass it off as the best thing since sliced bread or better than most meta builds or current favourites

I could play many of the existing builds out now sure but its over 2 years into the game and this is fresh and effective, at least for me. I have yet to be countered by a longbow power ranger or trap for that matter.

Ive been tinkering for weeks with the build and runes/stats to try and get that happy medium so when you stop by the stream all the numbers will change quite often pending what im running.

This thread is just the most current.

Stop by tonight again. Only I just got perplex runes so theyre going to stay for a while, cant afford to swap those out.
