I am 100% sure what the next...
At this rate, I get the feeling many of the ranger/druid community may be moving onto other pastures. But I hope you’re right. I’d love an advanced beastmaster.
And then, they will remove the secondary active skill cause some rank 5 PvP player started a thread. Then they will nerf the new set of pets. Then randomly add cooldowns here and there, and maybe nerf most traits. Then they might revert some changes here and there, and call it a nice job at balancing.
Pirate Chips [LAYS] – Server Hopping (EU)
And then all new pets will be locked behind a 7 hour event which needs to be completed by 999 people and if you happen to not crash the server but instead complete it there is a 1% chance of a random pet appearing in a secret location in the map that changes every 10 minutes and the pet is guarded by 10 legendary mordrem snipers with permanent invisibility and there is a invisible wall around the pet that you need a mastery to walk through but you have to channel it for 15 minutes so you need to get all 998 other players to help you get the pet and keep the snipers distracted but once you have channeled the invisible wall for 14 minutes a lightning strikes you dead for no reason and your ranger gets deleted from the game

xD Made me laugh… Thanks for that.
…elite specialization is going to be.
It’s going to be some advanced beastmastery specialization, maybe some kind of spirit animal, will allow you to have access a new set of pets which will have more than 1 active skill.
Totally making this topic just say ‘I told you so’ when the next expansion rolls around.
Please no.
I was hoping that this would be Druid, but now that we have healer, i don’t want another specialization with boring mechanics. I hope we get something in mastery of hunting weapons, PREPARATIONS GW1 and a cross-bow new weapon would be sick.
My guild all have tigers. That event is ridiculous fun. And afterwards we got lost several times and still tamed the tigers. Is the argument that we even have to do it?
Crystal Desert
I think that next ranger elite specialisation is teased all around verdant brink – have you seen those armies of “vigil recruits” in medium armors with sword and shield equipped? :P
[ranger’s or thief’s next elite specialisation for sure :P]
“-and on this occasion I keep mine plate armors”
discussion about offensive/deffensive playstyles
The pet is one of the biggest liability’s to our class, although I would like to see a Beast Mastery 2.0. Always felt envious that Hunter’s in WoW could go Beastmaster. If I could, would have the specialization have 1 rather 2 pets (obviously some adjustments to how some traits work involving Pet F2), focusing more on the idea of training this specific pet to be a monster amongst other pets; have the pet be noticably larger (perma SoTW effect) so you would be able to identify that the pet is a threat; and guess have something similar to the adrenaline system where the amount of ‘adrenaline’ you would gain would pay off when you spent it by empowering you, your pet, and your allies. I can dream though v_v

It doesn’t help that beastmastery in WoW is suprior in every single way to to GW2 ranger. I mained Druid and Hunter in WoW all those years ago, so the cluster-kitten that is ranger/druid is still a massive dissapointment. Don’t get me wrong, I kind of enjoy my Gw2 druid, it just always feels like it’s lacking somehow. That ‘somehow’ tends to be the awful pet system.
Uninspired, boring, one-click pet collection with zero customisation and severely limited controls vs WoW’s tame almost any animal of any kind from across every single map. WoW’s total customisation talent trees (and permenant names) which remain even after you stable the pet, as well as precise controls and a selection of Ai behaviors. Not to foget, as you pointed out, WoW’s pets increase size with level/loyalty.
Unfotunately it comes down to blizzards vs Anets treatment of it’s customers. Blizzard wants people to have control and enjoy their game as much as possible, whereas anet have specifically stated that they wouldn’t alter pet controls because they felt it would be too confusing for players. Infer from that what you will.
AS for OP, not convinced about the advanced beast-mastery, since Anet have absolutely no idea what to do with pets. The druid traits and staff weapon skills, as the last 3 years, prove that.
Well they need to get off their kitten and do something about it, every other class has a unique spec about it. Adrenaline for the warriors, guardians get their divine rites or whatever and thieves get steal. The revenant has the mists/legends now and here the ranger is with their kittenty baby pets, and their horrible AI along with the fact you cant customize them? This is the one thing that has been on my wishlist forever and a day now, i want my pet. I want my kittening dinosaur they promised in this expansion, yet what do i get i get a kittening dog dino thing with a kittened turtle beast and baby wyverns who are unable to EVEN HIT THE ENEMY. Come on Arena-net can you please let us tame any animal that is an actual beast, like wargs or rock dogs((considering the smokescale is the same beast just with a scaled overskin.)) Forget that WoW dose this or that, if you limit your game because someone else has already done it then you might as well remove alot of stuff you have already added. Seriously get on your A-game and do something, this has been a complaint for three years running and instead of addressing it you claim we cant figure it out when you have players who have made “God” builds. You have people making timers for your boss’s , you have people figuring out exploits and telling you about them. If you think that your community is not intelligent enough to figure out a pet system, then why did you make the class to begin with. Guild wars one had a better pet system then this game, and the pets were mainly cosmetic if you were not running a beast master build, but they at least tracked enemy’s and were constantly applying pressure.
Yeah, I’d guess some sort of specialized beastmaster themed role with a hammer. BRING ON THE BUNNY THUMPER.
It’s probably gonna be whatever was scrapped before the druid we have now.
I am still waiting for shapeshifting kits.
