No. No more please. I have gotten my hopes up for every single patch in 2013. We’ve gotten a handful of trivial buffs and a handful of major nerfs, and quite frankly, the only improvement I liked was adding the numerical hp to our pet hp bar.
Rangers has too many problems. We need to trait 30pts just to get signets to work, 30 pts just to have decent condition cleansing, our shouts suck, our direct damage scaling sucks, our pet ai sucks, and theres just too many junk traits cluttered throughout our traitlines. Unless Anet starts taking rangers seriously instead of placing bandaids in the wrong spots, we’ll still be laughing, raging and qqing with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htHRErZM7QM by the end of 2014.
ANet has been on vacation for like 3 weeks lol, which means they only have had like 4 weeks to work on anything. Last “big” balance patch took 8 weeks and gave us the movement of Spirits Unbound.
And… And…. well, they moved that trait and added some minimal fury to a still unused trait. In 8 weeks. After announcing every change (and the only changes) made, 7 weeks earlier. And now with only 4 weeks and a break it’s supposed to be an amazing update.
Just lol’ing. Sorry. It’s just a funny concept to me. As far as I can tell based on past experience, ANet probably doesn’t believe that “the meta has settled” enough for people to realize the “true impact” of the prior changes made, so they won’t make any big balance changes yet until “people realize the potential of previous changes.”
I think most players would just be happy with the ANet offered up a little transparency for once and told us some of the things in the “pipeline” right now for future changes to the ranger class. Because at this point, most players don’t even think ANet knows where they are trying to take this class as far as balance goes.

Lol. Something like… Empathic bond – condition removed to 2 instead of 3 to make Bark skin viable? Judging by past patches, it seems thats how they operate.
The only buff they could possibly give us is to change the pet AI’s actions, or to give players full control over the pet’s skillset outside of their normal attacks. Basically, like how FF14: ARR does the Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar classes with their pets. They’re able to set the pet to Obey mode, where the pet will do nothing other than their normal attack unless otherwise directed to by their master, meaning you have full control over when they use their AoE on the target, when they cast regen on the party, when they tackle the enemy, etc. That alone would do more than enough to fix several of our problems with pets while simultaneously increasing the skill roof on Rangers, and the best part is that setting them to such a mode would be OPTIONAL. It wouldn’t require us to have full control over the pet, we could do it that way if we wanted to micromanage the pets further.
Or just give the melee pets a lunge like the Moa Morph moa has with its normal attack, I’d go for that too since it’d help fix the annoying “enemy must be rooted or standing still before our pet can hit them” BS.

I learned to expect nothing and usually we get nothing from the patches, so most of the times my expectations are fulfilled

Certain devs have said its easier to try to change preceptions then actually change things for the better. Thats why the shortbow range was nerfed to make the longbow look like a better weapon when it wasn’t.

That video made me laugh so hard… PRICELESS! My main used to be a Ranger, rolled a Warrior.
I did notice the dodge nerf last patch, it was bad enough I ended up traiting to increase endurance regen, I am happy to say I am dodging as much as I did before the nerf.
All the other changes were superficial and my pet still stinks.
