I'm freaking out with this splitblade xD
are you sure you aint having a bug of some sort i dont recall splitblade ever canceling and i know i use it quite a lot
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3
Was fighting 10 guys one after another and paid attention – yup, 1 sidestep and it goes on a 3 sec cd (what is more than the half of it’s actual cd) instead of the animation following the enemy. Missed about 7/10 splitblades, not even point-blank. If it just goes straight ahead atleast give us something like a movable cone AoE indicator.
Ok, finally found the reason behind it. Opposing to spells like torch 4 or dagger 5 (predicting where the targets are moving, or just missing on purpose, idk, lol) The splitblades aims the middle of the cone to where the enemy stands when activating the skill, not when resolving or right after. That means in close range a moving target is kinda impossible to hit because normal movement just lets them just walk out of it or cancels the attack…
If you let go of your mouse the skills will track instead of going on 3s cd. It is going on cooldown because you aren’t facing your enemy when you attack them and your character is locked from rotating to face them.
Well, I’m running with wasd and facing directions with my mouse while the right mouse button is pressed down, otherwise I can’t follow targets. Releasing the mouse button feels weird and doesn’t help at all – but thanks for the idea. I think it always goes on cd or misses because most of the enemys try getting behind me, and in melee it goes so fast that the enemy is already standing in an angle where the cone doesn’t hit. Am I the only one with this problem?
I feel like that has to be a glitch. Out of curiosity, did you file a bug report?
By Ogden’s hammer, what savings!
Yep, normally, when you use an spell with casttime on a target and run out of, lets say, range etc. the cast only stops when it should resolve and the target can’t be hit – otherwise it hits even if the target is half of the cast time not in range. But when using splitblades the attack automatically cancels when the target is “lost”… I guess it shouldn’t be. I see it when the target runs out of the angle beside me. It doesn’t matter how fast I turn to my target – even when I’m facing my target when the attack resolves it goes on a 3 sec cd instead of hitting. I’m gonna put it into the bug section – just wantd to make sure if it’s just me or I’m not getting something.
longbow suffers from that too on a couple skills.
Your wasd also prevents your character from automatically facing your target
Tbh the best way to do this is to just get really good at looking straight at your enemy.
That’s what I’m doing, but if he sidesteps and I face him again before the cast time is through it still goes on cd – that’s what’s driving me crazy.
