Guild Wars 2

hey people of Guild Wars 2,

So i went Sylvari Ranger, and im now nearing 80, and i NEED and WANNT a good PvE and PvP build, yet searching on the internets and this forum, i don’t know which build is the best

+ many are old, and from the beta or stress tests, which i think are unreliable builds

I like to use sword/shortbow longbow/shortbow or greatsword, and any great PvE or PvP build using those would be AWESOME!

I switched my build to this condition build a couple weeks ago from a glass cannon build. I mainly WvW and sPvP so I don’t know how effective it is PvE-wise. You can probably also use more than just the second weapon set I have in there. Since I’ve switched to this build I’ve pretty much gone 1v1 with every class in WvW and most of the time walk away the victor.

Looks good, but are their any specific weapons/armor you use? what skill do you primarily stack ( Power, Precision, Toughness ect.)

I use the pow/tough/vit gear from the temples as of right now.

For runes I went with Superior Ele for the pow/condition. Undead would work as well if you want to stack more tough and you get additional condition dmg from toughness.

As for the shortbow I just found a pow/vit/condition one, nothing special really. I don’t remember the name I reskined most of my gear. I did however change to the sword from axe which I have in the build. It actually works out decently. S/D will give you 3 evades at melee.

I like this for pvp with Conddmg/power/vit and Dwayna runes on armor and + power on kill sigil

Also feel free to change ulti/healing/some of signets for better personal utilization

I can’t help you unless you tell which weapon you Like the most That and what do you prefer-Burst dmg(crit builds) or DoT dmg(condi builds) or mix of both? Maybe playing Support or control?

I don’t build to fight 1v1 in wvw and found condition builds a bit lacking, but they might be to your taste.

It’s fun to come up with your own build that suits your play style and try different armors and runes etc until you get a balance that suits your play style. this way you learnt to play your class well, as you will learn it’s strengths and weaknesses.

Something I change the greatsword for longbow when I siege tower/keep.

Roll a Thief and go Pistols.

I run a pretty non-traditional build but it works well for me in both WvW and PvE situations. Has reasonable survivability while still good damage throughput and I’ve enjoyed it so far: http://goo.gl/kXxff

I run with LB/SB which is somewhat rare these days. I run Power/Precision/Toughness Gear. I also run with Beryl off pieces and corresponding gems on those to get some extra Crit damage and vitality. Unbuffed puts me just shy of 19k HP, about 2500 Toughness, over 3K Power, and 41% Crit. Working out well so far as an all around build.

O and, my weapons of choice are mostly

Sword/dagger with shortbow
Axe/dagger with shortbow
Greatsword with Sword/dagger

BUT i am VERY flexible with this aspect

also, i like a mix of condition and burst, but if i had to choose one i would choose burst
