Do me a solid and post theory crafted ranger builds that never worked out (pvp and wvw, not a pve guy)! I’m just trying to find some interesting builds that aren’t “longbow zerk” or “spirits and a shortbow” if you guys feel me! Trying to take advantage if some of those new traits and whatnot. Anyway, you know what to do! Start posting rangers!!!

The medic Ranger(post patch). your job on the battlefield is to stay alive and revive other ppl asap, even if u’ll get down it wont be for notnig and will have long down duration. your pet will take part in the action, having aoe cc ability to get foes away from the the down ally and revive him asap. you have 3 sources of stability, and prema stability for your pet so you wont get interupted while reviving. You also have 2 sources of quickness to revive even faster.

I uh, i think lugh won the thread, tbh. That is the most painful to look at build ive seen.

Not bad, but personally I’d take 2 out of Wilderness Survival and put it in Skirmishing. Protection on dodge roll is great, but this way when you revive an ally you also get to leave a spike trap to help deter people from the stomp. Plus this way when your ally gets up you’ll both have swiftness and your enemies will be crippled so you can both get some distance. The switch to Skirmishing also gives you Swiftness on weapon swap so you can get to your allies that much faster.

I’d also go for Invigorating Bond over Zephyr’s Speed. Less quickness, but your pet’s F2 skills have a pretty nice heal attached to them so as you Crowd Control the enemies with fear and stuns you’re also healing yourself and allies.

Yep. This build will make standing support obsolete. Everyone knows the real game happens on your back!

The Zoo keeper Ranger.
You can roam like a boss with with 5 attacking minions(2 henyas,parrot, wurm,mistfirewolf) and 2 support spirits(water and fire) to synergise with them. You also have “horn”, “gurd” and spotter to buff all your minions with prema regen, fury(with moa as sec pet), swiftnees, and some might(torch-horn combo etc…). prepare to be respected and feared, the envy of summoning necros.

You can now replace one of those utilities with Frost Spirit, which is literally the worst skill in the entire game after the nerf. Spike trap is actually a pretty good skill, and considering that nothing on that build will ever do any damage, it may be the best possible skill for the build(!). Direct damage + CC + Bleed. It doesn’t hurt that you have a rune giving +25 condi damage.

Or I’m over analyzing this….

I’ve been playing Beastmaster/Healer’s Celerity + Mercy for a while now. The build flexibility is pretty incredible. 6 spare trait points, whatever stats I feel like, an open utility slot and whatever weapons I feel like is more than most builds have. It’s been fun, I’d swear the Mercy runes revive with more than just 20% extra health.
