I still want to run with my sb / lb..I dont want traps…I dont want to die after 5 s…I need help to get my gear and trait together after the patch . Hope someone out there in the gw2 world can help me

Id love some input on this!
My GF loves bows (Considering she’s investing time/gold into both legendries) and as of the recent patch, we have been trying to figure out a good setup, but I do not know enough ranger as I do not play it.
(Plus it would be great to find a calculator that’s updated to current patch)

I got my unicorns and I will not let them go

Anyone experimenting with builds that use both bows?

used to run sb lb with traps (had nothing in BM and didnt bunker), even had the dreamer. It was a versatile build where I could set up for traps and under siege switch over to spirits to help my group out, but Anet kittened that up. Your better off going sword dagger, broadsword and axes. Leave the bows to melee classes like thieves and warriors where anet thinks they belong.

LB/SB is also my desired weapon combo. Currently I am running S+A (or S+D) / A+T with a 0/0/30/30/10 build. I still carry my LB for tower defense situations. That’s about the best advice I can give you at this time. When I get more time I’ll start running more diverse builds, pull out combinations of my various sets of armor and see what else works, but at this point in time I don’t see a way of doing it. Sorry.

okay, i tried many different combinations and first you need the right gear
armor/weapons : knight
rune of divinity (lyssa or melandru is also good)
for trinkets i use cavalier
That way you have enough armor to have a decent survivability.

Concerning traits, the two best options i found are either 30/20/20 or 30/3010. 30/30/10 has more pewpew while 30/20/20 has more survivability. I’ll describe 30/20/20 since it’s the one I use
marksmanship 1,10,11
skirm : 6,10
wilderness 6, 9
utility: quickening zephyr, lightning reflexes, signet of stone
healing troll unguent
elite : entangle or rampage
pets : wolf and dog
defensive aspect of the build :
-with cavalier trinkets, knights armor and signet of stone you have around 3.1K armor so you won’t be bursted down easily (unless you run into a zerg)
-LB #4 is an amazing knockback and SB #3 is free dodge
-Activating signet of stone grants you 6 sec immunity on a 80 sec CD since you have #11 trait in marksmanship
-Hide in plain sights (from wilderness) gives you a stealth if you get cced
-ligthning reflexe is a stun breaker, a free dodge and gives you vigor for 10 sec you can dodge like a crazy

offensive aspect of the build:
-if you have same armor and divinity as well you should have around 3.1K attack 50% crit chance (with oil) and 80% crit damage
-With LB and quickening zephyr you can burst someone very fast with #4,3,2 combo
-both pets possess a knockdown and if you active their skill you have fear and immobilise
-if ennemy close on you, you can switch to SB and use #5 and #4 to snare and interrupt him
-Finally LB #5 is one of the best AoE in the game.

Also you can always use the same build and switch shortbow for GS if you find shortbow boring

I would like to add that this is a power build made to do good damage. That build will however lose in efficiency if you run by yourself or with one or 2 players. You would still do fine, but if you run with 5+ players you will be really annoying since it’s much more easier to range burst someone when he is already fighting your teamates.

This is the setup I run for Zerging if you want to do LB/SB

It works really well, you’re able to stack an absurd amount of bleeds very quickly (25 stacks in around 5 seconds is common)
