That new rune set will apply a 3 stack of Confusion, PI can apply a 3 stack (bringing it back to around the damage it did before) and if I pop on an interrupt ability (maybe even use Technobabble as a Single Target version) and have another 3 stack..

9 stacks of confusion would be possible with my build..

I know my friend was telling me it made his rupt mes build completely and utterly broken as kitten, so I’d imagine it’d work out quite nicely for us as well, and may I suggest just using a bow or axe#4 for an interrupt instead of technobabble?

That’s the only problem i have with it right now..I’d be forced to use something like Bow or Technobabble (over PI, though I could just run Heal/TB/PI and have no speed, but not sure about that)

I know I wouldn’t want to run Axe offhand though, would be awful…..

At same time no way i’d ever want to give up axe/torch and sword/dagger either for Shortbow.

Oh yeah, you’re a condi ranger, idk why I forgot that lol. Yeah Axe wouldn’t be good for you…. Hmmm if only OUR pet riots gave effects to the enemy like necro, engi, Mesmer, and thieves do….

More i think about it, the more I probably wouldn’t use PI, but use Technobabble instead, since Technobabble would basically become a Single Target version of PI (but with a vastly longer confusion + daze) It also makes Techno a pretty nasty nuke if you think about it.

PI would be great for AOE, but then again..Its hard to fight 2 people anymore unless they just suck…

That sounds like…. the most beautiful thing i’ve ever heard of!!

It is, It makes killing mobs in PvE incredibly fast as well… since you get full damage.

Step 3: Laugh because he’s now dead.

Only thing is, Asura Engineer’s are going to be a freakin nightmare now if they figure it out.

Key word is IF, make sure you burn all evidence of your discovery and kill anyone who tries to make the same discovery.

Technobabbles toolkit is “Confusing Speech” which applies aoe 3sec confusion, not to mention engis have A LOT more interrupts than rangers do.

I’ve got to confess, I’ve really been mulling over picking race for the engi I’m about to roll. This almost seems like a sign.

and if you fire off QZ + Sonic Shriek (Reef drake) you get a wopping 14 stacks!!!!!!!!!

for ranger, you got 3 choices;
Asura for melee
Human for hybrid
Norn for ranged/scout

Reason is:
Asura – PI/Technobabble
Human – Hounds of Balthazar/Prayer to Koromir (3 condition cleanse?)
Norn – Become the Snow Leo (GTFO button)

Yea, the Reef Drake stacks suck, and no way in hell i’d run QZ with my build

Anyway, the build i’m now adopting for this is

10 Marksman (keen edges)
0 Skirmish
30 Wilderness
0 Natures
30 Beast (though you could go 20 and drop the 10 points in Natures)

the 10 in Marksman gives me 10% condition duration, then you get 30 from rune, 40 from food, so 80% duration which is 5 over what ya need to turn the interrupt confusion into 15 seconds of Confusion Loving.

Actually ended up killing a thief because of it again today, he was at half life, and popped him with it, he tried stealth and ended up dying in stealth from it.

You also get Keen Edges, which can pop someone for 10 stacks of bleeds on Splitblade if ya do it right.

Only thing that’s a problem is getting the interrupt, since its specifically on that, So you have to time it right and its not always easy as some classes don’t have huge cast time abilities. (Though I can’t wait to run into a kitten elementalist again, I missed jacking them over hard with it)

But yea, This rune single handily brought back the Confusion spec for Rangers if you’re Asura, Though even without Asura…You can still use Shortbow and accomplish the same thing.

Ehh…I don’t have an AOE interrupt, I imagine it applies the Confusion to each person you interrupt though.

rofl, I take it back, I do have an AOE interrupt, if you get downed, whoever you hit with the interrupt will eat the confusion stacks as well, each person gets it.

My goal is to work towards something like this

Start adding in things like the 2500 HP from WvW and 100 Power/100 condition damage and this build starts becoming super beast mode

By the way, interesting thing I noticed about Technobabble earlier after a warrior skullcracked me and went for 100b

I can do 25 stacks on my warrior on my sleep (not even level 80). May buy set for ranger for the lulz as well, although it won’t be as funny, ranger is an asura…

what pets are you using? hate to change from my apothecaries gear but this looks interesting to play. been looking for an updated build.

Right now i’m running technobabble on my apothecary BM Bunker build

But with that setup, probably Dogs, usually I’d run cats cause of the damage loss I take running full clerics, but since that set has fairly high damage i could get by running Dogs I think.

Xsorus, on your build you list three celestial and three P/V/T armor pieces, can I ask why that mix opposed to all celestial or other pieces? I’m trying to learn more about the ranger and love your builds;I don’t know if you get a magic number for P/V/T with your set up or just using pieces you have available to you. Thanks.

I’m trying to balance the stats somewhat

Clerics could also be used in PVT’s case.

I want over 1700 toughness and 1000+ condition damage

and I want my Power to be a reasonable level with 25 stacks of Bloodlust
