Probably already been put out into the fourum-o-sphere but here goes!

Using wolf as an example
F1- attack my target
F1 again return to master
F2- terrifying howl
F3- brutal charge
F4- crippling leap

I think this would give a little more control over te pets abilities plus it would be cool.

This idea has been brought up before. I don’t think anyone here is going to argue against your idea. For some reason Anet thinks being able to control our class mechanic would be too confusing for players.

I wish. Basic pet functionality should have been in at release, and something like “Guard” should be baseline, not a utility slot.

It’s absurd how poor our access to fields and finishers is, and even more so how little control we get over the ones we do have. My engineer’s PvE build has 2 water fields, a fire, a smoke, a light, and a poison, plus 4 blast finishers, a leap, and assorted projectiles. Rangers, on the other hand, have only 2 blast finishers at all; both are on a 30 second cooldown and one of them isn’t even under our control.

This is an instance where ArenaNet should blatantly copy Blizzard.

Allow us to manually control the abilities and whether any of those abilities are on/off auto-cast for the pet.

Some abilities I want full control over. Others I just want my pet to cast every time it’s up.

I’m always for anything that gives more control/options to the player.

Birds Swiftness when you want it instead of wasting time they could be attacking.
Canines cripple and knockdown when you want them.
Spiders immobilize and poison when you want them.
Devourer knockback when you want it.
Bear invuln when you want it.
Drake tail swipe when you want it (Blast Finisher!)
… the list goes on … and it would be so nice to have.

The only reason underwater combat still exists is it is too much trouble to remove it and someone liked the idea of underwater exploration.

The original idea can’t work with the current game the why the pet behaves would just have the yo-yoing back a forth as players attempt to get control of the already unresponsive system.

Pets have been hidden due to rising Player complaints.
