Always thought of the idea of Quickening Zephyr granting group quickness, acting like a group utility like it was back in Guild Wars 1. Would fit into the idea of 1 profession from each tier having access to group quickess; mesmer with Time Warp and Guardian with Feel my Wrath. After that, was thinking of a way to give more access of group utitilty from Survival Skills.

Lightning Reflexes
This skill now also vigor to allies as well as applying distortion to nearby allies. Wouldn’t want to step onto Mesmer’s territory too much, so 2 entities max would be a fair amount?
Muddy Terrain
This skill now applies stability for a short duration to any ally entities inside the AoE through the knowledge of the wilderness shared with them.
Quickening Zephyr
Simple change, applies group quickness and super speed to surrounding allies, 5 entity max.
Troll Unguent
Couldn’t really think of something besides applying a lesser form of Troll Unguent or yawn more regen to ally entities.
Sharpening Stone
Not much I could think of that would still fit within the bounds of the skill besides also applying the guaranteed bleed stacks to nearby allies. Would be good with condi groups with a small bleeding burst, although the cooldown would have to be lowered to justify its usefulness.
Entangle
Feel like it is in a good enough place as it is; a useful CC for team fights, immobilizing zergs, useful for possibly securing a get away from a fight, keeping mobs or bosses in place. If I were to see a change for this, hostile entities are trapped within the overwhelming brush, acting similar to Ring of Warding from Guardian Hammer 5.

Just random ideas to improve existing utilites.

Survival skills are already incredibly powerful, mainly when traited. I dont think they need changes at all tbh

I’m not really a fan of just adding stuff to skills to make them “more viable”. They work or they don’t. By that I mean, if a skill cant remain simple enough to understand and be effective, bolting on more stuff as an after thought isn’t going to fix it.

Aoe QZ, yeah that works, is still simple.

Sharpening Stone, doesn’t need aoe apply to allies. Each stone needs to apply bleeding per strike, even if strike is an aoe hit.

Muddy Terrain, stability sounds good. It would probably see a lot more use I would think. Not sure its the “fix” for it though. Its cast time is an eternity.

Lightning reflexes, I wouldn’t change, except maybe directional targeting?

Troll unguent, is good.

Entangle, is good.

The biggest problem with survival skills is that they are heavily carried by its supporting trait.

True, but we’re always lacking access to group utility, so I was just thinking of possible ways to implement more access towards it.

Survival and signets already make up roughly 100% of any ranger build’s utility skills. Shouts and traps are what need the help.

If you spec into Nature Magic, you can use Fortifying Bond to get the fury effect you’re looking for.

I am a tank at heart.
