I’m reserving my opinions of the actual mechanical workings of druid, but my immediate issue is with some of the visual aspects of the class.
For one, though I know it has been stated already, I feel the abilities outside of Celestial form should really be more green/plant (leaves, flowers, etc.) themed. Nature does of course expand past just plants and animals, including all of the cosmos, but the celestial side I feel should be left to the Celestial transformation. It is something they clearly cannot tap into constantly (since it is a form that have to build up resources in combat to use), manipulating the cosmic powers of nature shouldn’t be left to mundane abilities. Though some of the abilities already do use a floral theme, much of the actual ability coloring (which is a big part of the game’s combat) doesn’t match the green coloring we see for the ranger (and the druid, given the art), there being actually no spells that do (they’re all blue/white). It is a bit akin to if Reaper animations didn’t have the Necromancer’s classic green/black spell coloring.
Another thing of noting that I don’t particularly like, is that druids hold the staff in the same way as a Daredevil or Revenant, rather than any of the casters currently in game. This makes sense for a Daredevil, who actually uses the staff in melee, but the druid is a caster and the holding with both hands I feel looks rather unfitting (along with just not liking the animation as a whole).
Keeping with animation issues, the druid 1 also looks rather odd, though the departure from using general staff casting animations is a good thing, the 1 I feel looks rather silly for a skill you will be using constantly (invoking/focusing some power out of a staff looks more fitting for a powerful or taxing ability).
My only other animation issue is with the Celestial form’s 2, the “blossom” really doesn’t look all that flowery, the plant looks honestly more like something harmful (looks very Mordrem actually), not something beneficial that everyone should group around.
Also, not related to animations, really glad to see how useless and uninvolved the pet was in the specialization, now I can probably validate just dismissing the dumb thing. Though I really wish access to the celestial form was traded for access to pets, becoming our F1, not just tacking it onto the bar as F5.
