Invigorating bond trait
The trait definately needs a buff to compete with protective ward. Maybe they should make it dependent on healing power and then add your suggestions. Then it might be worth it to take it over protective ward.
Hey everyone, just wanted to put this out there. Has anyone used the Invigorating bond nature magic grandmaster trait?
Ass it stands it heals for 2500 every 20 seconds when a pet uses its F2 attack. And that is it.
Given the core ranger severe lack of condition removal and in line with giving more control on special skills proc, i suggest the following:
- Invigorating bond procs on pet swap with an ICD of 15 seconds (to be in line with the traited pet swap CD)
- Invigorating bond additionally removes 2 conditions in an AOEThoughts? Opinions?
we need something new, we already have a dodge trait that removes 2 conditions. maybe… Invigorating bond heals for # gain resistance for 3 secs. cooldown 15 secs
That trait should be scrapped, and put something there which is as good as the other two GMs (if the spirits would be mobile that is).
this could be … invigorating bond : whenever a boon is remove/expire on you heal # amount 360 radius
Reduce healing and remove the internal cool down would be for me the best solution. Alas Anet probably won’t do it because it would mean that the moa’s outgoing healing would be inferior to the bird outgoing healing.
So many thing to correct when it’s related to ranger’s pets in this game…

Make it so pet swap drops a 3s water field that condi cleanses per 1s pulse. It’d go nice with clarion bond.
All it needs is a 2s Resistance on it and it would be fine. It would become 3s due to Lingering Magic.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
a lot of ideas:
- in pet swap all your no damaging condis are transferred to your pet. breaks stun.
- when the pet is hit by burning, poison or torment ranger get 2 seconds resistance. (icd 1 sec)
- 10% of the damage applied in the ranger is transferred to the pet. Pet gets 1 second of regeneration each time damage is transferred this way (icd 1 sec)
- While pet is over 75% health, ranger get 3 seconds of regeneration, swiftness and fury every 5 seconds.
Buuut i can promise you we won’t see anything from this thread applied to the game like ever.

Nah. You’ll see the great ideas here and throughout the Ranger subforum used for other classes and their elite specs instead.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
The only downside of this trait is the radius. Seriously. Fern Hound + Invigorating bond is amazing.
I would change it to:
Your pet heals alliesand remove conditions in an area when executing a command F2 ability.
Healing: 2,580 (0.8)?
Radius: 400
Remove two conditions from allies
Conditions removed: 2
Radius: 400
This way, bears can even see use against condition heavy comps.
I’ve always regarded this trait as largely pointless. As I do most secondary effects on long cooldowns. Unless your pet’s F2 attack has a cooldown of 20 seconds or longer AND you primarily or always want that heal going off, this trait is useless.
Remove the internal cooldown and scale the heal to the pet’s F2 cooldown.
The present version heals for 2580 + 0.8 x healing power on a 20 sec CD.
Change that to (129 +0.04 x healing power) x [pet F2 cooldown].
That wouldn’t make it overpowered but at least it might be moderately useful.
