Is Ranger A Good class
some will argue either way. if you like the idea of a ranger, go with it. i personally really enjoy mine.
Deleven is right if u like the ranger just play it, is not that bad, it just requires a bit more experience. Tbh i have played every class just to learn how to counter them but i can’t imagine myself playing a diff class on a daily basis.
from all the professions I tried, ranger requires the least amount of “experience”.

Ranger is an awesome class, and I say that as someone who usually plays an archer type character in most games. The pet is fairly easy to control and actually quite strong, plus finding pets is alot of fun. I use dual bows, which seem to have a great symmetry between long and short range, and with the new patch it feels alot smoother switching between the two.
In WvW I have alot of AoE and can hold my own against people assuming they aren’t just ambushing thieves or really good hammer wars. Anyways, I have always found it fun in every aspect of this game and never once regreted the choice.

Ye ofc if u spam the shortbow autoattack is easy. U won’t get far tho.
after this patch, yes, rangers are in a very good shape.
Use this weapon combo:
Longbow
Shortbow or Greatsword
S(KILL) Gametypes > WvW & sPVP
SB + GS work great with the new marksmanship tree (reliable opening strikes, longer daze/stun)
im using SB/Axe/dagger for a bleed build, works fantastic
GS/sword/dagger still best for bunker
honestly i feel most if not all ranger weapons are now viable. havent tested LB yet.
I´d say NO, getting tired of the either do no damage and survive a bit longer or do “some” damage and die in 2 seconds…

The longbow feels VERY nice now entirely because of the fixed opening strikes. With 30 in marksmanship and a longbow, you’ve got 20 vuln on your target every time you start a fight thanks to the kill refresh. Throw in a +10% vulnerability duration sigil on your bow and you give yourself, your pet, and anyone else attacking your target +20% damage. That’s absolutely massive.
Rangers are a fun class for those who enjoy having an animal companion (not a pet) and/or for those who enjoy having to constantly dodge and move around the battlefield, always carefully adapting to the situation.
The class is currently rather mediocre, right down there with engineers. The last patch however has brought us some fixes – and with it, hope.
If what you want is a lone archer or a static sniper, then this class is not for you.
Friends dont let friends create new rangers. Roll something else, play a ranger if they ever fix it.
