Is it just me or does it seem to just randomly stop working while out of combat and then speed up sometimes? I don’t know what it is, one minute my ranger is fast and the next it feels like running through tar. Keep in mind, this is out of combat.

Are you sure your pet didn’t put you into combat? I’ve seen so many rangers run around without putting their pet passive.

I clearly said that I wasn’t in combat. Majority of the time when I’m farming nodes, I have my pet hidden.

I’ve noticed some strange things with movement speed on ranger (very rarely though, and I think only really with Signet of the Hunt) and especially with my pet.

I think I have seen what you are talking about and have had moments where neither my pet, nor I, activated combat and a speed boost (especially that of Signet of the Hunt) will feel like it just randomly doesn’t work.

As for my pet it just doesn’t seem to get the benefit of like any speed boost; I have Agility Training set as one of my traits, but much of the time it just doesn’t seem to make my pet move that much faster… but it will randomly just move around like crazy from time to time. It might be how the pet works and that they have to stay pretty much within a short distance of you, so I never get to see the effects of the speed boost because of this; I don’t know…

It might just be me, but usually my perceptions are spot on with this kind of stuff.

I find it funny that trained signet of the hunt is exactly the same as the recently nerfed assassins signet. Yet for ranger it sucks…because the ranger just sucks

False, its not the best but definitely not bad. Try using it with a raven, I use it with raven on his f2 ability and get 7-9k crits with it. I do however wish it would work on an entire attack and not just the first hit of one, like when my pet double strikes Id like it to affect both since its all 1 attack, or hell rapid fire for that matter.

The point I was making is how the exact same ability for one class is op but for the other it’s sub par. 150% of bad damage is still bad damage.

Because with a thief you can get 14k-19k crits, with ranger you cant. Ranger has no hueg damage hitter except swoop that would work with hunt, and the only pet I know that can do it effectively is raven or bird pets because their f2 is their biggest hitting attack. Honestly thieves had a great change, 50% on backstab was nice but if it missed the signet became useless, so anet actually buffed them. 15% times 5 is 75% more damage so they actually got a 25% damage boost. Its just not all in 1 attack now.
