Guild Wars 2

So after being fed up with the Guardian profession for lack of effective ranged abilities in both sPvP and WvW, I decided to roll a Ranger (I probably messed up my guardian build, but whatever). So far I’m enjoying the Ranger in both sPvP and PvE (I haven’t leveled up too much yet so I have yet to see the endgame problems that other players are annoyed about). Anyways, I’ve noticed that other rangers use different pets in sPvP, whereas I’m currently stuck with a bear and a drake. I’m wondering if it is possible to change the pets I use (I’m more after the asthetic appeal). Or are pets in sPvP race specific or something like that?
