Is it really fixed?
First, are the “Pet responsiveness updates:” listed under the April patch truly fixed? This was one of the biggest reasons I stopped playing the game.
Pets are more responsive to F2, but they will sometimes try to run within attack range of your target before starting the F2 skill. Which kinda sucks for the F2 skills which aren’t attack skills (e.g. condition cleanse, might, etc). There is also an infrequent bug where the pet does not do anything at all when you press F2.
Second, (this is pushing me to continue not playing) “Hunter’s Call: Fixed a bug that caused the hawks summoned by this skill to become obstructed if line of sight was broken between the player and their target.” is listed by them as a bug when in fact I can remember that they patched it shortly after release to function this way. I’m amazed they try to hide this as a bug now instead of simply changing it.
I suspect the original bug was that all multi-attack skills were not checking LOS after the first attack. The initial fix was to make each individual attack check LOS for all skills. But that ended up breaking Hunter’s Call, and they finally got around to coding an exception for it.
Now if they’d just make it so you couldn’t fire the skill if you have no target or the target is out of range. That puts the skill on full cooldown but produces no attack.
Thank you for the response Solandri. From what I’ve gathered, pets are more responsive but still not reliable, which is sad. Good clarification on the Hunter’s Call skill.
I probably won’t come back. It’s been too long, the game seems to be more passive than ever before, my main profession lacks a purpose in most content, and a continual stream of ascended gear barred behind annoying time gates and activities makes my gear unsatisfactory for the only area of the game I enjoyed, WvW.

This is one of the most pressing criteria asked for in the Collab thread.
Yet other than the read the wind trait and a minimal boost to pet AI nothing in any change since has scraped the surface.
The main question now is, do they know that?

And the CDI was two months ago. so? How much stuff has come out of the other CDI threads in two months or less?

I don’t know how these things work. I left the game after the shortbow nerf and have never been active on these forums. To be honest I was very active on gw2/1guru forums throughout GW1 and GW2’s testing and “post release” phase as I saw these periods as the critical periods to provide feedback.
Are you insinuating that they’re still going to work on CDI feedback and that they don’t consider it to have been all addressed in the april release? Because that would be good to hear, though I’m really losing faith at this stage
I wouldn’t come back as the Ranger hasn’t changed much since you left. As Chrispy said, we haven’t seen any changes based on the CDI thread (nor did we get any real dialog on the discussions we had in that thread either…). If you haven’t found something better play, I say come back after E3. Maybe ANet will be more forthcoming with information then.
