Nope, just another bug that needs fixing but that is the less of our concerns. And YES it sucks to have to keep renaming your pets.

I’m not sure, i’ve always renamed them when i felt like it but then i stopped because it was getting annoying.

As long as they remain in one of your four slots, they’ll keep their names.

yup, terrestrial pets have default juvenile names because I got tired of naming over and over and over.

Aquatic I am set though since all I use are jellies.

Eventually this too will be fixed, but I am not to antsy for this one, I’d rather devs focus on bigger fish.

I had thought they fixed it, sometimes my pet names stick for a bit, but yeah, I’ve given up on naming them for now. I’m still trying out new pets as I find them so I swap a lot.
I do really hope they fix this in the future.

I do wish they would fix the feature. Pets have no personality to them when the names don’t matter. I had 3 monkeys in WoW:

Wadisit
Wadisithea
Wadisitinhea
