Increasing crossfire time and fixing an audio bug?…an AUDIO bug??

I understand there are many bugs to deal with but how did these become a priority over the many other bugs rangers face?

Like my pet names disappearing, or call of the wild making your pet attack the nearest mob, or longbow damage being sub-par, or spirits being useless, or melee pets needing to be stationary before they can do damage, or pets never staying at my side.

Or pets being unable to attack various items in the game and, instead, glitch and remain standing? Or perhaps the 6 second delay on the F2 command before its used – but only after smashing said F2 command like a rabid woodpecker shouting “WORK kitten YOU!” at your computer screen?

Yeah, priorities are a bit whacked.

Was the audio bug a top priority? No. But I experienced it myself, and it was SUPER ANNOYING!!! I’m extremely happy they fixed it. My pet no longer sounds like an out of breath Darth Vadar.

Here’s how I expect they address bugs:

1. Review bug reports and verify they are actual bugs. This involves playing the game to attempt to reproduce the bug, or getting evidence from customers (ie. screenshots, videos, descriptions).

2. Once confirmed, it has to be investigated to determine what’s causing the bug.

3. Once the source of the bug is found, a determination has to be made on what resources will be required to fix it. (Some bugs will have easy/quick fixes. Other bugs may involve extensive code changes that could have unintended consequences if not planned properly.)

4. Finally, they have to rank the bug for factors such as: how much of an affect does this have on gameplay?, how annoying is this to players?, what’s the financial considerations?, etc.

5. Once it’s a confirmed bug, with the cause identified, an estimate of what it ill take to fix, along with the game impact of the bug… The decision makers then prioritize which bugs to fix first.

I bet the audio error was a quick/easy fix. It might have literally taken one developer 5 minutes (or less) to fix the bug. So they took care of it quick and crossed it off the list. Which is the proper way to handle these things.

Exactly how hard would have been to fix Opening Strike to have a range of 1500 (longbow) instead of 900? Nevermind the other factors that make it fail to activate most of the time, but an unlisted minimum range of 900 is ridiculous for something relevant to all the minor traits in Marksmanship.

The very first bug post in this sub forum will tell everything that is wrong with rangers at the moment. Which is the main problem why no one understands this nerf at all.

“Or perhaps the 6 second delay on the F2 command before its used”

the way the F2 ability works is that it throws the active command into the skill chain. it would be nice if they would change it so the active skill took priority and canceled the chain, but you can get around it by using your F2 skill immediately after swapping pets

also, pressing it twice will sometimes cancel the spell, try not to mash

Yeah, that’s really annoying. Though none of the boons are life or death, it makes it hard to time, such as adding a Might or Fury boon to Rampage As One. The Fern Hound’s regen would also be nice to have activate sooner rather than later, though this is debatable whether its is “life or death.”
