I’ m a ranger rank 292 WvW and been playing ranger since Beta. Thurst me I know what I’ m talking about.
Spent tons of gold on runes, gear, sigils…and no way..this class is simply broken.
How can a thief hit me for 5k despite me having 3600 armor?^
Seriously Arenanet instead of making ranger stronger, nerfed our pets and our spirits. Unfortunatly ranger is just an easy kill for everyone.
Who denies it, It’ s just becouse you don t want ranger to become stronger becouse you love ^^easy kills ^^
There is no hope for this class. Arenanet simply hates rangers.

Also if the highest hit you get is 5k then it’s pretty nice actually, and I think that
those 3600 armor are the root of your problem.

How can my pet hit someone for 5k despite them having 3600 armor?^
Seriously Arenanet instead of making ranger weaker, buffed our spirits and our longbow. Unfortunatly ranger is just an impossible kill for everyone.
Who denies it, It’ s just becouse you jus t want ranger to become weaker becouse you hate ^^hard kills ^^
There is no hope for this game. Arenanet simply loves rangers.

Seriously, you should be able to kill ANYTHING if you cannot then it is a l2p issue.

I’m a ranger rank 402, and have played since beta, trust me I know what I’m talking about. Learn to play. I roflstomp anything except condition specs 1v1 in wvw, I can also support my team very well. It’s a shame that in such a long period you are still blind.

I’m a ranger rank over9000 and trust me, pvp is the focus of the game. Good thing cause rangers are worthless in dungeons.

PvP ranger is much different than WvW ranger. Other classes benefit 100% more from rune/food/sigil stacking than you do in PvP. In PvP ranger is much more potent, in WvW it’s more diluted. Keep in mind our pet stays the same when transitioning from PvP/WvW but classes get 100% of their benefits because they rely on the stats unlike our pet. WvW is much more open and mobile compared to PvP which also, directly hurts our pets as they don’t deal with movement too well and can also be abused.

I think ranger honestly suffers from the most imbalance between both PvP/WvW than any other class.

I mean if you’re referring to any PvE gameplay , they’ve received hard nerfs for absolutely no reason other than 2 builds in PvP alone.

I just don’t think people complaining about WvW ranger can be responded to by people who exclusively play PvP , it’s just a completely different ballgame and different stat mixtures and everything.

Some of it’s learn to play, and maybe in this case it is but WvW ranger is underpowered compared to PvP no matter how you look at it, not because of anything necessarily to the ranger, but like I said, every other classes benefit ALOT more when they setup stat mixtures off to WvW.

The truth of the matter is that when you compare both WvW/PvP , like I said above the pet is still the same, there is no difference in the pet however the classes get better, meaning more damage to your pet. Other players can stack insanely higher health/toughness , which hurts the pets offensive prowess moreso than in PvP. There’s alot of different factors that go into WvW than in PvP (addition of bloodlust also plays into this but since than can be stacked into the ranger’s favor also i guess it doesn’t matter much) that directly hurt our class.

That’s speaking from playing WvW ranger since beta and literally doing nothing but dueling and roaming since then. I don’t play PvP that much, but when I did, I found it EXTREMELY easier to play in with my ranger than I ever have against the same type of skilled players PvP is just more barebones, it’s limited in it’s amulet options, and rangers tend to benefit more from those amulet options than other classes (namely shaman’s amulet).

edit I should also add after watching Eurantien play, he definitely knows his kitten and is a killer kitten ranger and I would actually encourage alot of rangers to look at his gameplay styles and pick up what you can. Same with Saizo Sol, both [FML] rangers are extremely good. But you don’t hold point bunker in WvW, you roam/zerg and in the case for most good rangers – they’re usually roaming and dueling and not zerging.

Also, since pets/spirits will be receiving a 70% buff to their health in WvW/PvE this may help alot. Also, I believe in the new dungeon pets are immune to some AoE’s which is a good start in the right direction in combating aoe damage for the pet.

I’m also not saying ranger is bad in WvW, there’s a reason why I play ranger in WvW – while there are some builds that I almost can’t win against (warriors are extremely difficult now along with necros although against condi once you learn what you need to avoid they’re becoming alot easier) it’s still very fun and I win my fair share of the duels I’m in. I just think there’s a huge imbalance between those 2 areas and one area gets balanced based off the other (in this case and in the history of ranger it’s usually balanced in wvw based on performance in pvp). If you were to look at the PvP standpoint, you’d see rangers being one of the highest classes played on top teams, but that’s because they fill a niche role that can’t be filled in WvW and that build is not effective at all in WvW due to higher aoe dmg, etc.
