Ever since the launch of Guild Wars 2 the one-handed sword roots the ranger in place, making the combat feel extremely clucky and unnatural.

As I am one of the people who (love the one-handed sword) hope that this will be changed so the animations/combat feel more fluid and natural, how do you feel on this subject and can we expect a change?

Please understand I’m talking about the animation itself only, I personally believe the rest of the sword skills are fine and work as intended.

I honestly honestly wish they would swap the sword animations (and effects, just a complete swap) for warrior and ranger MH sword.

I believe there are plenty of warriors who would absolutely love a cripple and forward momentum leap for their sword animation, not to mention how much faster it is over the warrior sword.

Not only that but the bleed on hit fits rangers more imo considering all the other condi options ranger has.

i love all the little flips and whatnot my asura does with his sword, i would be a sad panda if they got changed =(

I would love my warrior doing what my ranger does and I would love my ranger doing what my warrior does, I guess is cause the animations would fit well with my shield…while the warrior sword would fit well with my ranger’s horn or dagger.

But even then the animations do fell a little too over the top, specially since sometimes I miss my target thanks to them…

I personally like the sword animation as it is. I however dont use auto attack so i am able to dodge when i need too and this weopan is so much more useful with auto off (not just for dodging). If they fixed the rooting issue I still would not use the auto attack with the one handed sword. I do use it for my other weopans there isnt a benifit for not using it.

I wish the number “5” offhand Axe Whirling Defense let you move with it, like the Warriors, or the Thieves Dagger Storm.

In PvP people move a lot, so I don’t understand the number of abilities that root players in place, that use them.

First of all, calling out an Anet staffer in the thread title isn’t recommended.

Second of all, I’m sure they understand the problem, and are working on it. It’s not like they’re not aware of the problem and not working on it if they don’t say anything.

I think they will allow the player to dodge out of the animation.

Well that would be the problem. Sword is Rangers best direct damage at the moment whereas Warrior sword is a condition damage weapon.
