Guild Wars 2

I found this fun and figured some others might like it. I always enjoy their youtube videos, so it was neat to see them fight. This was before the September 9th LB buffs.

Koroshi is a well known engy roamer and Floppy the Rabbit is a LB ranger, both are extremely good.

Watched it yesterday as well. This guy is amazing, fighting Koroshi(a very very strong condi engeneer) with only SOR and sigil of generosity as condi defence. I’m realy curious to see what he can do now after patch.

I’ve seen him use brown bear for the condi removal as well. Interesting that he went with the spider for a duel against a condi engy! He can get away with a ton thanks to the high evasion and 3 sources of stealth though.

I really need to finish crafting my ascended dagger so I can get a sigil of energy on it. Only have an exotic right now with a crappy sigil.

Well well.. how interesting. I don’t know Streamers at all but I met that Ranger in WvW last week. He was very difficult to kill I must say, though it was 2v1 against him so we did get him after a while :p . Still, I was impressed.

Nice video too. Most interested by the Warrior Runes actually.. not a bad idea since one thing I have found a problem is once you’re forced onto your melee set (be it GS or S/D) you lose most of your pressure and it can be a long wait to swap back put it back on, although at the moment I am enjoying Lyssa too much

Strange thought, do you think it will be worth it to use the new trapper rune set in a power build? You can take the fire rune with ground targeting and just place it wherever to get the 3 sec stealth and speed. That build can be even more annoying.

Fun video. I’ve always found the longbows kiting potential to be invaluable versus condition engineers and necros.

I encountered a power (or maybe hybrid) longbow/shortbow ranger using the trap runes and 3x trap utilities. They seemed useless for anything other than frustrating people. One of those builds with fights that just end in stalemates all the time. Good if you’ve got back-up, probably.

It would seem like a waste of a utility skill and rune set in a power build like the one Floppy used. The rune set can work well in trap builds but in their current state they are still mediocre, so it’s basically a good trolling set. The rune works very well on condition thief builds though…unfortunately.

I’m considering attempting a Greatsword+Axe/??? build, traiting for Traps and Survival skills, and then using two of the Evasion runeset and four of the Trappers for a very mobile, hopefully hard-to-kite build (Swiftness+Protection on dodge roll, Super Speed on Trap use, Axe 3 for Chill and GS 3 for gap-closing). Not sure how well it’ll work, but it seems good, to my (untrained) eye.

The stealth on the full set, I think, is most well-suited to a build with Remorseless – gaining guaranteed critical hits + Vulnerability stacks, while also allowing unseen, swift re-positioning, could be very useful.

The Frost trap deals no damage so I’m pretty sure that it won’t even reveal you, which means that you can actually use that trap against your enemies.

Ya, 3 traps on a power build is definitely an over kill. moreover, SB unlike LB, is about about burst cycels when you stealth with SB you lose dps, with LB you use to re-position yourself at distance which can boost dps.

I look st flopy updated build, he uses SOTH so its not a big sacrifice to replace with a trap, both will give him mobility. Flopy invest alot for the extra stealth, his pet F2 iclueds bad AI some RNG with F2 and micro managment(to pick item and use) so it seems he’s willing to invest to gain the stealth, and it realy works for him. I actually agree that the set is not amazing for trap builds due to fact they’r the source of burst damgae of the user(and the damage will get you out of stealth). But with power build the trap is just a utility to re-position and rapid fire.

Might work but not for LB builds, the remotless bonus is only for the first shot and for the full duration of rapid fire(the main burst) perhaps with GS/ x-Axe cavalir/valkyrie builds.

Ya, but the fire is on much shorter cd fire trap(15 sec) forst trap(30 sec) it comes to what more important to the user, the trap effect or the utility.

Wow! Now that’s some skill man…that’s some skill.

If some of you aren’t familiar with floppy I highly recommend watching his other videos. He has a few guides and commentaries on duels or 1vXs. All before the LB buff as well, so you get good ol’ fashion effort.

I’ve always felt the most important thing about a longbow is having a couple backup plans, something almost everyone ignores when they first take one!

Signet of the Hunt was being used because i gave up on my bear and removed my “Protect Me”, reason is : getting used to NOT have any kind of “absorbing” skill such as PM and SOS, even tho i dueled koroshi BEFORE the patch i still did not find anything to waste on while fighting a condi engineer, PM will not provide me the protection that i need from condis and wasting my pet’s time on following me.

Warrior rune is being taken for the big reason : 2 seconds less on weapon swap, i am NOT losing pressure when i swap to my S/D because if its a class that likes to regen such as a signet warrior.. the poison and the bleed damaging him and reducing heal by 33% ruining his signet and giving me free damage on him with no “Resistance” while forcing him while he is low to use his signet and be extremely vulnerable, S/D is my defensive state, i am using that to kite.. evade.. and gain distance, can be used to run away aswell.

At the moment Signet of the Wild is being used (instead of SOTH) because the stability, movement speed and some nice 25% damage increase, being slow is not my problem i am built to fight and not escape, but if i see a fight is being lost and chances to win are dropping fast… im just grabbing my pig and running to safety
(even with no movement speed there are times i can escape zergs)

You can get a solid lb/ whatever celestial trap might stacking build.

Cool duel, too bad it’s WvW, always gets a lot less exciting when there are no range restraints on the battle.

<3 Koroshi, not only a very good roaming engi, but the guy is always upbeat and cheerful.
