Pretty standard LB build. I personally prefer using SoR for condi removal instead. You hit a lot harder and it doesn’t force you to use your important utilities for condi removal, i.e using LR to remove bleeding is a travesty.

I run 4 4 6 0 0 and it gets the job done in my pvp hotjoin as far as im concerned. Read the wind is far from mendatory.

I gotta agree 100% with Fluffball on this. SoR is just too good for condi removal (keep in mind the pet has to be close to you and still alive!) Wasting your LR for condition removal is really bad as it breaks stun, immob and is an evade.

The build is good in certain aspects, but I will always prefer the old classic 6/6/2 build. That swiftness the on swap weapon gives is just so good for me when i do tpvp. I tried Survival of the Fittest variation and I felt so slow trying to move from one point to another. I would also recommend taking Rampage as One over Entangle, the stability it gives to this squishy spec is just too good. I would swap one of your utilities for Signet of Stone also, probably Quickening Zephyr as it’s not that useful honestly since the Rapid Fire buff.

Kyubi, Read the Wind is actually required for any zerker longbow builds when playing against good players in competitive pvp. If you don’t have the trait, good luck landing those arrows as they will move left and right, making most of your arrows miss. With RtW, it can’t miss.

they do land especialy once the guy has been knocked down is feared by my pet or took my point blank shot in the face and i have had no issue beating the pulp out of player that as you say think they can just dodge the spike. Using rapid fire in the blind is a poor move you need to CC the target first so to make sure it eats it entirely.

I can’t believe players actually think Read the Wind is useless in the forums. Beating people in hotjoin is different from beating top 100 players in teamqs.

Im not saying its useless just saying its not ’’mendatory’’ as with any option you may choose to take or not take.

Read the wind isn’t so strong yet that its a must have to all build.

When you are shooting from 1500 range it is strongly recommended to take RtW, or you will lose a good portion of your DPS due to missing so many arrows. The trait is both a damage buff due to making your arrows 10% quicker and the velocity makes those arrows unmissable unless you dodge it or use blocks. The difference with and without the trait is pretty big, but if you have more fun playing 4/4/6 build, that’s cool man. But I just prefer my arrows to hit more accurately.

Does depend slightly on the use… when duelling I dont think RtW is entirely nessesary simply because them being able to side step attacks when at 1000+ range doesnt mean much. Any real opponent isn’t going to be at 1000 range they are going to be much closer.

If you are roaming, especially in a group, though, you really do need it as a lot of the time you will be picking off people who will not be closing the gap (like they would be in a 1v1) and infact might be trying to widen it… in that situation the ability it hit accurately at long range is essential and I’d say RtW is required.

Small fact in spvp most people fight at very close range (less then 1000) at this point i prefer to chain CC and burn with RF when they are unable to move then when all cd are done switch to GS and burn them twice more switching to LB afterward. You are way more likely to take an arrow to the face when your circling around a point close range (about 500 or 600) to the ranger then when running away in wich case i don’t mind ill just close the gap with my GS.
