I leveled a ranger some time ago to 80 and tried LB + GS and it was hella boring.
Pew pew and the enemy dies. If he lives long enough to get near you, kite with GS then swap back to LB and pew pew till he dies or you die.

I stopped using my ranger to solo roam cause it was so boring.
I only used him in zerg fights when I try to snipe the enemy’s ranger or necro down.

Until I saw Glad’s stream where he played a full melee ranger and owned.

The full melee ranger is the most beautiful and flowing style of fighting on all the classes.
The way the melee ranger spins and pirouts and flow from one slash to the other was pure beauty
Of course, Glad’s smooth transition from one weapon set to the other was a beauty to watch too.

We who have rangers should have a try at full melee.
It really has the most beautiful fighting style of all the professions.

And the most buggy, too. One-Hand Sword for pvp is ok, but i will never use it in wvw or pve. Too much situation where your auto-sword attack will hinder you. Serpent strike will lose the target too often, especially in zerg fights. And Sword against constructs or near cliffs are just a bad joke. Then you can’t use just a single skill without falling down accidentially

I don’t run much melee on the Ranger unless I absolutely have to, I mean last resort, but not because I don’t like it much but because I play it like a Guardian (my main).

is all to true. I mostly play in WvW and I can’t say how many times I’ve fallen to my death or locked down by a wall / rock

I would like to learn double melee but its a playstyle i can’t understand. Maybe im too used to S/D thief…
