I’m having a serious rough time with this question. It’s going to be paired with sword/dagger, and QZ/Signet of the wild/Signet of the hunt.

The mobility and flexibility of the shortbow is awesome.

The kittenty +50% instead of +100% quickness on crossfire is not awesome.

Barrage and point blank shot are awesome.

The inability to respond if someone jumps me while I can’t weapon swap is not awesome.

The damage on both seems good, and my priority is efficient takedown of individual targets. I also like being rewarded for being sneaky, and I like adaptability.

I can’t tell which is better for me. Input?

Shortbow. Longbow just isn’t right for sPvP. Time your QZ with your sword. you won’t have that 50% problem. The longbow has a difficult constraint for max damage in spvp, which most of the times is not possible. Even then, at maximum range, the shortbow still out dps’s the longbow, without even taking the bleed into account.

I wish they would fix the longbow, i like it better than the shortbow, even though the shortbow is more effective.

I have some calculations of Longbow vs Shortbow damage out there. I’m super lazy right now, but search for one of my research posts and I should have a link.

In pure damage wise, Longbow only slightly edges out the Shortbow in terms of pure damage. But in sPvP, you have to think about how longbow damage relies on distance, and at long distances (max damage) the more likely you are to get “OBSTRUCTED” Also Barrage is a stationary channel skill. Which is a humongous negative to otherwise a great skill.

But yea, Shortbow all the way.

Sb, no contest. You can rarely keep max range in spvp so LB ends up being much weaker.
